one more turn addict
I'm in the middle of one of weirdest games I've ever played. Alexander/Monarch/Continents/Normal - I've included a save and am seeking advice of the masses.
A brief synopsis:
Playing as Alexander
By 3600, I had popped AH, HBR, and the Wheel from goody huts
Set up a capital and second city and got to work on the oracle/MC/GE/pyramids gambit.
Took two attempts but got the pyramids in 700 BC
switch to rep. /already had writing and got to work on libraries
3rd city ~ 800 BC / 4th city ~ 300 BC
farming hard but not whipping much (trying to grow into happiness - it's grown quickly)
production is slow (teching like a beast)
miss confucianism by 1 turn
literature/ civil service follow
bulb philo and paper + 1/2 of education
liberalism ~ 730 AD (Nationalism)
bulb 1/2 of printing press (probably a mistake as I've little cottages)
finish printing press ~ 900
where to go
OK, so maybe that's more info than the masses needs. The game is weird because I've never teched so fast. Plenty of folks to trade with and have been doing so. No war up to this point (aside from a couple of barbarian cities). I'm in the doghouse on power, last in population (two things I'm usually tops on because I'm a warmonger). The SE has worked like a dream in terms of tech (I think has been more like a bulb economy because those bulbed techs allowed me to trade for so much. Production on the other hand, has been abysmal, and I didn't whip much early because of high happiness levels.
Anyway, the game certainly isn't lost. I'm just in unfamiliar territory and looking for others opinions.
