Your fuel prices are very cheap, I'm sure that would make a big difference to my answers. Although I do intend to remain car free all my life, our public transport system is expensive but then so are our cars.

1. How many motor vehicles do you own?

B: 1

3. How often do you use PUBLIC transportation?

D: Rarely (less than 1) Public transit routes are poorly done where I live. The Kansas City Area is not fond of Public Transit. Light rail and bonds for more PT fail miserablely every time.

4. For how long have you been using PUBLIC transportation?

E: Not at all.

5. If BUS ticket prices were increased by 20% (increase from $3.50 to $4.20 for a regular single-trip ticket or from $22.90 to $27.50 for a regular multi-trip ticket) how would this affect your method of transportation?

F: Does not apply, don't take public transit.

6. If BUS ticket prices were increased by 50% (increase from $3.50 to $5.25 for a regular single-trip ticket or from $22.90 to $34.30 for a regular multi-trip ticket) how would this affect your method of transportation?

F: Does not apply, don't take public transit

7. If fuel prices decreased by 20% over the next two months (change from $1.30 to $1.04 for regular unleaded) and continued at this price how would this affect your method of transportation?

D: Does not apply, don't take public transit

8. How aware are you of daily fuel price changes?

D: Well Aware

I'd like to amplify on the 'F: Does not apply, don't take public transit'. As I said, the Kansas City area is piss-poor for PT. The routes are limited and the times are mostly around the business day. I work 3rd shift, so PT isn't even an option for me. However, when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I took PT all the time. I didn't even have a driver's license! So if I had it available to me, I would certainly consider using it. But the bottom line is, how much is it going to cost for me to take PT to and from work? How much to get back and forth to work? And what's the time cost going to be? For instance, in SF I had a 3 hour a day commute on BART and AC Transit. It takes me about 35 minutes to drive to work now. If I could get to work cheaper on PT but have to give up sleep, well, I'm already sleep deprived, so I'd probably stick with my vehicle. OTOH, I used to sleep on BART anyways... It would really depend on what KC had to offer, PT wise.
