A riddle to test your Civ trivial knowledge!

As Arakhor pointed out above, several other leaders were also quoted in the game, that weren't listed in the initial question.

I missed Mao because I was unfamiliar with all the new techs in BTS, just him though. Also one of those six is quoted twice, which?

They all held lands that were conquered by the Romans at some point?

Correct me, if I'm wrong but Prussia was never conquered by the Romans. And thus stayed/became civilised. All the european countries that where part of the Roman Empire are less then countries who didn't

Lands that Frederick owned were conquered by the Romans.
Prussia proper never was though, of course.

And, uh, yeah, right... about that other part. The Germans were really civilized during WW2.

Of course they were, just like everyone else in Europe.

Correct, Napoleon is quoted twice. It's ironic that one of his quotes makes him seem like a visionary millitary leader and the other makes him seem near-sighted and insular.

However Napoleon is not the most quoted, even for an individual. What's the most quoted (this should be obvious) and second most quoted source for technology in the game?

Well, first is probably the Bible, if it counts as a single source. Could only hazard a guess for the second most quoted. Confucius? Buddha?

I was indeed counting the Bible as a single source. The second most quoted is neither of those, though I really feel they should have delved more than they did into Eastern sources for inspiration.

Groucho? :groucho:

The second most quoted is Aristotle, who gets Composites, Philosophy, and Replacable Parts. He and the Bible are the only two sources with more than two quotes (BTS additions notwithstanding...)

The quotes for Replaceable Parts and Composites are the same quote by Aristotle...except that they are slightly different (a few words changed). Interesting...
