A way to improve Barnaxus

Or you could just give him hero. Of course, this would make a longer system for him giving promotions to other golems, like QES has proposed, quite necessary.

I would still much prefer the ability to share other promotions. I wouldn't mind if he could only teach one golem at a time or train one promo to all units on his tile, (like Govannon does, but obviously different promos and not only to living units) to compensate.
 
Something I haven't tried, but if barney dies and you have a city with the blasting workshop in it, after he is re-made, would he have the ability to cast fireballs?

Just did a quick check with the editor, made a city with all techs, and all buildings (including ones Luchurip cant get normaly), then mayde Barnaxus, he has the following promotions;
City Garrison I (from gridlines)
Defensive (Chancel of Guardians)
Fire II and Sorcery (Blasting Workshop)
Free Promotion (Shrine of the Champion)
Golem (Duh)
Heavy (Armament Molds)
Hidden Nationality (Council of Esus)
Light (Velox Workshop)
Mithril Weapons (Weaponsmith + Mithril)
Morale (Ride of the Nine Kings)
Prophecy Mark (Prophecy of Ragnarok)

Then it got weird, he also started 5/2 exp and had Blessed and Regenerate available as promotions. After I let a turn go by (without promoting him) he lost Morale but got it as a possible promotion. I promoted him with regeneration which then made the free promotion go away but was available as his second promotion (I.E. it disappeared from the stack of promotions he had and showed up as one he could take.) Selecting free promotion didnt seem to do anything, it statyed available and I could select another (I guess it used it and was available to select again).

The Arcane golem I made next had Light, Heavy, Morale, Sorcery, FireII, Entropy II, City Garrison I, and Summoning.
 
One other thing, I've noticed that the Council of Esus will only sometimes give golems the Hidden Nationality promotion. I can understand it if they couldnt get it at all ("No, really, it was some one else's Clockwork golem that smashed your city, you dont think we are the only ones that make them, do you?"). But being random seems to be a bug.
 
I was under the impressions that golems never got HN (perhaps Barnaxus is an exception to the rule, as he is different from other golems in some obvious ways), that it was only for living units or something. Light and Heavy together is a bad combination. There is no purpose in having +1 movement if every time the unit moves it loses an additional movement point.

Also, you really shouldn't give out all techs. Never should never be given out, since its purpose id to allow promotions that cannot be gained in normal ways and as a prerequisite for unbuildable units, including slaves and Sir not appearing in this mod, a unit to which most others upgrade, so as not to become obsolete.

You probably gave yourself the "Never" tech which blocks access to blessed, Free promotion and others
 
Just a quick thought about heavy and light:
Maybe it would be nice to insert them as spells, like the crews, only that you would need the aproppiate buildings to switch to them?
 
I'd like it if more the promotion giving buildings were added and to fix them limiting them to only one or some other small number so you don't get the light and heavy combination.
