I've creating 2001 scenario about the year 2001 (awful surprise!). I know there are
lots of same-kind of scenarios (which are a-lot of better) but hey, that's my first
serious scenario. Now to the point. I have lots of areas, which I dunno what nation
I'm gonna give them! Could you help?
Nations are:
1:US - 2:EU - 3:Russia - 4:Arabileague - 5:China
6:Rich Neutrals - 7:Poor Neutrals.

I have room in following areas:
1:Canada 2:Australasia 3:Cuba 4:Greenland.
5:SE Asia 6:Mongolia. Any thoughts?

Greenland, Canada, Australia and the Rich parts of SE asia (eg Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Taiwan)should be Rich Neutrals, all the other empty areas should be poor neutrals

Danks. Now, if somebody could give me additional thoughts...
And I have another question, btw:
Which should be the top-5 cities and how large they should be?

------------------
-I'm a communist pig and proud of it.
-Sweden - the number #1 country in the world!
-97% of finns don't trust politics; 38%
of 'em don't vote 'cause of this.

I think that Greenland should belong to EU since it belongs to Denmark.

Britain+Canada+Australia and some others could be set as the Commonwealth Group. They are all ex-British-Colonies anyway.

Just an idea ...

Top 5 cities should be:
Ney York
London
Berlin
Moscow
Paris

I always thought that the top 5 cities were NOT the 5 biggest cities but the top MOST IMPORTANT cities.

Thouse are the cities that should have the most wonders

I just completely lost it, sorry scenario creation makes you tired. What I mean was
that which should be the 5 largest cities in the scenario?

Not a top 5 list but a list of some of the largest cities on earth:

Mexico City, Pop. 11 707 964
Tokyo, Pop. 7 967 614 (Greater Tokyo 11 773 605)
Greater London, Pop. 7 122 200
New York, Pop. 7 420 166
Greater Cairo, Pop. 15,0 Mio
Karachi, Pop. 9 269 000
Moscow, Pop. 8 718 000 (Greater Moscow 12,4 Mio)
Jakarta, Pop. 9 341 400
Mumbai (Bombay), Pop. 9 925 891
Beijing, Pop. 10 780 000
Chongqing, Pop. 15.3 Mio
Shanghai, Pop. 13 Mio
Chengdu, Pop. 9,8 Mio
Harbin, Pop. 9.1 Mio
Tianjin, Pop. 9 Mio

Often made mistakes:
Paris has a population of "just" 2 115 575, which is less than Berlin
Berlin has a population of 3,4 Million
Washington DC has a population of half a million,, LA 3.6 Million.

I'll see if I can find some more.

Hmm, that's just what I was afraiding... My book claims that Mexico City has 28 mil pop.
This means that to minimize differences, I need more feedback (or whats the word, I dont care actually)

<IMG SRC="http://www.virtuallandmedia.com/img2/flags-4/europe/FIN.GIF" border=0> I have stolen this idea from Az.
I'm a pathetic little wimp.

That's the problem. You propably read about "Greater Mexico" which includes suburbs such as Texcoco or Chalco. Never mind, Greater Mexco in my book is said to have a population of 15 million. While that makes just the half of the number in your source, it still makes for the largest city on earth (even beating Chongqin).
I have an addition to make: Sao Paulo, 9 893 436

First, Juize, stop whinning. Forums are slow.

K, with that said, is this scenario a WW3 thing? If it is, use objectives. I find that most GOOD scenarios use the objectives for scoring. Try making the objectives important cities (Not just big ones
smile.gif
.) like Washington, St. Petersburg, Hong Kong, Glasglow, etc. Ah, you know what, wait one second and I'll give you a list of important cities I can think of....

I'd simply forget Mongolia* - it's not played any important political role since the mid-1700s (bar perhaps as prize in the 1938 Japan-Soviet war, but most people have never even heard of that war). Greenland should perhaps have an EU city on it (it's Danish, after-all), and an American airbase representing Thule.

* I assume we're talking the Mongolian Republic, aka Outer Mongolia. Inner Mongolia should, of course, belong to China.

I find that most GOOD scenarios use the objectives for scoring.

Depends on the scenario. Objective based scoring is ideal for war-gaming scenarios, where the primary purpose is the acquistion of territory, but even there you have the danger of having to specify a protagonist, even if just the Barbarians. Could you imagine: the barbarians control 0 objectives, a decisive defeat. Here's 1500 points. Pah!

Just leave it out, IMO.

Hmm, I was almost finished and then came the Ducking 11/9! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGHGHGHGHGHG!
I would've killed myself if I would been continuing in those days, so I took a little break.
Now I'm continuing, and seems I get it finished in couple of days.
And I dont use objectives, altough I originally used. There are special units and rules in game, so...
