(Post) Launch DLC schedule

Selling DLC's boosts engagement and sells and people seems to prefer that over a simple release without any additional content besides some patches afterwards.
For games like CIV it actually makes sense since it's replayability potential. There are also incentives to encourage certain behavior, like linking accounts or preordering.
None is mandatory and one can also just wait for sales and buy better patched version of the game.
FOMO is only a thing if one let it become a thing.

I assume that one of the March 4 and April 15 "packs" are the entire collection. So on 3.04 you can either buy the Crossroads of the World, or the other pieces (one leader, two civs?) and three weeks later the rest of the collection releases. I don't know about Civ6 (skipped it personally) but Civ5's post-release DLC lasted eight months before Firaxis started working on the first expansion. I wonder if this time around we'll get more DLC collections before that point instead, since the two leaders and four civs takes about six months.

Maybe, but all of the known DLC will be released by September, which is seven months after release and about the time that the developers might go quiet until they're ready with an expansion. We might get monthly challenges or something to keep us busy.
