Abrupt shutdown in Civ4

After about 20 minutes of playing Civ4, my computer abruptly shuts down. It's very strange, and I searched the forums but didn't see anything. I installed the latest Civ4 patch. This happens every time I play.

My computer specs:
Mac Mini running WinXP SP2
1GB of RAM
1.66GHz Intel Core Duo
Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory

Any thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the response, auldian.

I'm booting into Windows.

The computer seems a little warm, but I have no performance issues at all. I would think that I would see things slow down or see some graphical aberrations if it was overheating or struggling in some way.

Well, I had an AMD FX-55 with 4GB ram and 2 256GeForce 7800 GTs in SLI mode and it still would shut down on its own. The game just seems to be buggy for some systems. If it continues to shut down, I would be weary to continue to play. I did for awhile, then one time it finaly caused a hardware failure. It used to run fine when I played it last year. I'm gonna try it once on my laptop, but if it crashes, I won't play it again on the laptop. Trust me, its not worth ruining your comp

The same thing happens to me, both in vanilla Civ and in Warlords. I'm running Win Media Center 2005 with an NVIDIA Go GeForce 7600 graphics card. I've tried full screen, windowed, mixed, and occasionally it will run for hours without a problem, but most of the time it just shuts down my computer after about 20 minutes, with no warning whatsoever. I've installed the latest drivers. As Dark Elf said, it's not worth ruining my computer for. It's going back to Amazon for a refund, and I'll have to content myself with Civ3. 2K Technical Support has been very little help ("install the latest drivers"). It's a shame that such a fine game is released with so many unresolved issues, especially when it's gameplay that's important, not fancy graphics and "camera zooming".
