Achievement Saves (for the lazy and/or the frustrated people out there)

I guess it has to be a hill tile, cause all the snow tiles were flat when i tried it. But i used the save, just like Elizabeth's 357. Declare war on India for an additional 20+ ships to sink. And strangely, even though barbarians at one stage have battle ships, they didnt attack, allowing me to kill them with my caravels in 2-3 turns

Anyone got the Pax Romana Aeternum achievement recently? I spent the last week working on getting it with Western Rome and I thought I got it today, finally! Damn, was that hard!

But it didn't unlock!!!

So I then downloaded Dretar's save and tried to unlock the achievement with it and it still didn't unlock!

I just downloaded and installed Brave New World today, so perhaps it is causing issues? Or perhaps the last update is the problem? Any advice?

Well, I'm looking forward helping with 'chievo saves this time around again, however, with BNW being out on Friday over here, and me attending a BBQ on Saturday, I doubt I'll get any of the easy ones out of the way for y'all. :P

No "winning" achievemnt currently works. Keep the saves and do them when they push out a bugfix for this current achievement issue (vanilla, g&ks and bnw likewise are affected).

I did got win as japan in the korea scenario on July 7th, so i think the old scenarios still work.

I would love to help with the achievement saves, but im so busy :p ill do my best though

Really? OK, I will keep my save and I have Dretar's save as well. Hopefully they release a bug fix soon. Out of curiosity, how do you know this? I was looking for bug reports and I couldn't seem to find any...

Hmm, well maybe it should work for the "Pax Romana Aeternum" achievement too? What version of the game are you running? Do you have the "Pax Romana Aeternum" achievement already? If not, can you try using Dretar's save to get it and let me know the results?

We're aware of a problem with victory-type achievements in Gods and Kings and the base game. This is not an issue in Brave New World, so keep your saves until we get this sorted.

From this thread.

Normal and updated version as far as i know. I havent got the achievement yet, and im not gonna use the savefile, cause i wanna accomplsh it on my own. If i used the achievement ill probably wont do it :p

The only garantue i can give is that the old scenarios still work. At least in term of achievements...If you play the korean scenario, there is no unhappines from occupation untill you reload the game... I went from 10 to -100 on my first try, had to restart and complete it in one go.

The above should allow anyone to get multiple achievements at once.

3 Victories by choice...
-- (Space) You only need to place the last Part in the Capital. And Launch!
-- (Diplomacy) Enough delegates already to reach the required 19 during next turn voting.
-- (Cultural) Use both Great Musicians near the tip of that Morocco Island. You'll be declaring War (by moving them into his territory) but it's essential since lots of these Tourism points will cross the necessary margin for Victory.

A few more achievements will also be activated if you haven't got them yet;

-- The Great Spirit (Win as Pocatello)
-- Sacagawea's Legacy (5 Ruins/Pathfinder)
-- Built in (Almost) a day (Wonder with 3 Production/Trade Routes)
-- Merchant Prince (200G/Turn via trade Routes)
-- Tear Down This Wall! (Ideology switch Order to Freedom)
-- Artistic License (Aesthetics Policy fully explored)
-- Lingua Franca (Remain Host of WC)
-- Herculean Effort (Complete all International Projects as Highest Contributor)
*This last one might have to be done after your Win(s).

PS; You need *ALL* DLC to play this save.

:D:D;)

Thanks for the save zyxpsilon.
Might I add that by purchasing luxuries with your hoard you can earn the soma tablets achievement also.

Looks like a pretty good save.

I am however very displeased about 4shared... a file host that requires downloaders to have an account deserves to be intentionally dodged by everyone.

Impressive btw, BrentH! MadDjinn mentioned several times that this scenario is much much harder than all others before and the achievements really are damn hard to get - and the Boers in particular have an extremely hard time due to being jumped on by everyone around them (sitting pretty much in the middle of everyone).

Where do I save this game into?

Thank you, Feiling, for the kind words. Thank you also for all your work compiling these saves -- you've saved me countless hours.

Now if you can manage Raiders of the Lost Ark...

Here are two save game files with achievements for the Scramble for Africa Scenario.

Build a railroad tile to connect Cairo and click end turn to unlock The Rhodes Colossus achievement. Also, at turn 100 you will unlock I Prefer My Africa Scrambled. This save might also unlock the Merchant Prince achievement (I earned it during this game), but I'm not sure.

In the other save, move the rifleman south of Benghazi to the south to find Soloman's Mine and unlock Discoverer.

This is so weird... a Deity Turn 17 Civil War Victory.. how..what?^^
A turn 6 Italian explorer finds one Natural Wonder and gets the achievement even though it clearly says two Wonders... I don't get it, but it works :D

I got your 4 saves covered Brent and Mesix, thanks (will add to front later).

Oh and btw, I think I got an idea how Raiders of the lost Ark might be possible, hold on ;)
