Achievement Saves (for the lazy and/or the frustrated people out there)

Looks like a pretty good save.

I am however very displeased about 4shared... a file host that requires downloaders to have an account deserves to be intentionally dodged by everyone...

Thanks! 4Share has been on my U/L (short) list since i can't even remember when. I *DO* agree though that having an account is a weird process. Nevertheless it's very reliable and sufficient for some needs.

I thought DropBox *ALSO* had a sort of account verification before allowing any File transactions?? Bof---

Speaking of which, i have another save with a set of Brazil_Pedro achievements... comin' right up.

http://www.4shared.com/file/5waxF-FW/_3Vs_Pedro_II_0431_AD-2011.html

This time - it's about Pedro & Brazil!

2 or 3(!!) Victories by choice (with Autocracy ideology)...
-- (Space) Even though it's the same process as before if you want it, there's no achievement for it.
-- (Diplomacy) 27 delegates are plenty enough.
-- (Cultural) Rock&Roll Musician... and only a few turns away.

These extra will also be activated .. probably;

-- Pedro's Party People (Win as Pedro)
-- Vote for Pedro (well, if it's good for above! :crazyeye:)
-- Rock the Kasbah (Concert in Morocco)
-- Flip-Flop (Active Resolution Repeal that you enacted previously)
-- Dark Horse (Diplo-Win without ever being host)
-- Soma Tablets for Everyone (Reach 100+ Happiness)
-- Legends of the Hidden Temple (Complete the Exploration Policy)

PS; You need *ALL* DLC to play this save.

This is so weird... a Deity Turn 17 Civil War Victory.. how..what?^^
A turn 6 Italian explorer finds one Natural Wonder and gets the achievement even though it clearly says two Wonders... I don't get it, but it works :D

I got your 4 saves covered Brent and Mesix, thanks (will add to front later).

Oh and btw, I think I got an idea how Raiders of the lost Ark might be possible, hold on ;)
In my Italian Explorer game, the Lake wonder is south of Tunis and discovered on turn 4 IIRC.

Actually a turn 47 win would be more impressive. In that scenario, the longer you wait the greater the enemy's numerical/technological/naval advantage gets (not to mention random events go against you and Washington becomes nigh invincible). I actually learned that the hard way, reloaded (shame, I know) and launched a suicide siege to finish. I started w/ around 8 infantry, 2 cavalry, and 6 cannon -- there were few survivors. :whew:

And I will be very grateful/impressed if you get Raiders (perhaps even some other archaeology achievements?)

(As usual..) This file goes to your "My Documents/My games/Sid--Civ5../Saves/Single/(---Here---)"
Then, it should show up in your Load menu (Single Player) as an option.

OK, I followed all the instructions carefully. I put this file titled "(3Vs) Pocatello_0495 AD-2047-July" which is an application file, into Users > My Name > My Documents > My Games > Sid 5 > Saves > Single, but it is still not showing up! In my subfolder of single, there are only 2 files, auto and quick.

What is the reason for this? Please help! Thanks!

It's 4shared
You need to click the small grey download button, not the large blue one (which says priority download). And on the next page you again need to not click that blue button but the other grey button which says 'free download'. Then you will be asked to register an account - I can only assume that when you did that it might let you download the actual .Civ5Save file...well no, there sure is also solving a stupid capture involved too; but then... maybe.

OK, I got it now. I needed to create an account in that site first before the download can begun!

SFA as the Ottomans on deity seems impossible.
I wonder if even the devs have done it...

I'm currently working on the 2 Polish ones, together with the last new science victory (the one that requires Order as ideology). I'll provide that save file tomorrow, most likely, or on Sunday at the latest.

If you say that, Brent, than it must be impossible, heh. I have yet to look at the scenario in a more detailed manner.

OK, how do I trigger the Rock & Roll Musician achievement?

You'll have to use the great musician that's sitting in the Shoshone territory, then after a few turns, a great writer I think it is spawns that'll let you start another Carnival, which will put your tourism output high enough to get enough influence for the victory.

If the log isn't updating (it sometimes gets stuck); then (when not actually in the civ V game at the moment) delete the achievements_debug log file.

Then relaunch civ V and it will recreate itself with the updated values.

Mine hasn't updated and I've began a new game on BNW now. Are there other ways to fix this?

I hope someone will come up with a savefile for Radio Free Europe... I figured it'd be an easy one to polish off while heading for the new Cultural Victory, but it seems to be quite a bit harder than expected. Building 10 broadcast-towers is easy, of course, but getting the 10 Great Works to put in 'em is HARD. I topped out at 7, and that was with a load of Faith-purchased Great Musicians... I suppose I could've done it still, but it would've required me to continue for 'bout 100 turns after victory, which seemed like a bit of a drag. :(

Apparently, it takes quite a bit of planning ahead. Building the Musician's Guild in the same place as the National Epic, with access to a river/lake so you can throw a Garden on top of it, is probably mandatory. And you'll need Aesthetics so you can pick up a few Faith-purchased Musicians too. And I suppose it'd help to spend the odd 'Pick a Free Great Person' choices you might get from Wonders or Culture on Musicians.

That, or wait for other civs to start churning out Musicians, and then go plunder their Great Works, I suppose. >_>;

Perform a concert tour with the Great Musician.

Unlocks:
British Invasion (Perform a Concert Tour with an English Great Musician in American territory.)
Rock the Kasbah (Perform a Concert Tour with a Great Musician on a Moroccan Kasbah improvement.)

and optionally, you can try That's XCOM baby! (Have your XCOM Squad go from 100 health to 0 in a single AI turn.)

Edit: save fixed.

Yeah, those achievements that require you literally to grind are quite exhausting to do. My Poland game is very culture-heavy next to science, so while not even focusing on culture primarily, I might be able to pull off the radio tower one.

The question is, though, can you change your ideology mid-game? I haven't played the game as far yet.

You CAN, but not easily. Apparently, your population has to be (very) discontent with your current ideology, which only happens if you're heavily influenced by an alternate ideology (especially if it's the approved World Ideology).

So, most likely, the answer is 'no'. :p Or at least 'yes, but it'd be more trouble than it's worth'.

here is my savegame for unlocking Radio Free Europe and The Silk Road achievements. it should also give Greed is Good, The Merchant Prince and both policy trees:

i also tried to get Losing my Marbles and the one with 10 CS artifacts in this game, but after digging up all stuff on the map (plus hidden sites) i had to give it up for now. i unfortunately only got 6 different artifacts from city states and no single AI expanded wide enough to have 5 or more sites on their territory. apparently it doesnt count if you dig up 5+ artifacts in different foreign lands. probably have to try again on a higher difficulty level and with more CS...
