Acid_04: The final frontier

Actially I believe it is memory that give the most effect.
1 MB just do not do it. It run fine if your system has 2 MB and memory it dead cheap now.

...yeah. Not to mention what happens when you run 2 GB memory. lol

Opps, what can I say? First computer I work on had 12 KB of memory.
I just remmeber process of upgrading it to 16KB.

Yes, I would sugerst to revolt to police state and convert population that cna not work land ties to military production true slavery. WE need more air power and more units in general.

TheRat, do you know that you can put figter on interseption after using them for something else?
I do not see how we could attack just yet, thought small wang stack seems still surviving somehow.

Oh, I didn't know that. I already converted unhappy citizens partially, but more can be done.

About Wang's units, I have the feeling the AI fights human rather than AI, which of course would be crap

we dont have to concentrate on research anymore, so police state does seem better

I don't think the AI is biased towards attacking human rather than AI, they're quite happy to kill other AI units in this sort of alliance war. Shaka probably just thinks he can take our cities and is focusing on that.

I thought the AI was programmed such that it is more likely to attack the human. For example, when you pick aggressive AI, it predisposes negative relations with the human player but not the other AI (or is this just with aggressive AI that this is the case?).

OK I'm playing now but had to stop and tell you that 1 turn in our good friend Alex Declares ON US:lol: . So we are going for a UN win when we have had war with every civ. Why do I always get backstabbed?

Man you guys have amazing luck this game  Maybe you should turn your head around and see if someone put a "kick me" sign on your back when you weren't looking?

Guess what. On turn 7 just as we had cleared Alex and were making progress with Shaka it is now Always War. Toku declares and grabs a western city. I have very little back there for defense. . I must say this is fun.

OK so I move a few workers around to repair damaged land and revolt to Police State and can cut down happy slider to make more $$ and when I hit enter our good friend Alex who has been preparing forever declares on us. Nice. My last turn Toku declared when I hit enter. Why does everyone hate me? Can’t we all just get along?

1874: OK I want to take out Alex’s city. He doesn’t have much there but I divert some of our Arty back to the home front. I assume he has a few transports heading our way. We are now a total war machine. All cities on troop production. Loose a few but Shaka is no longer in our territory.

1876: Ouch Shaka now has Mechs and Stealth Bombers. Alex is making a run through Korean territory at Pyongnang.

1878: UN vote comes up. Unfortunately we are at war with everyone. Shaka moves up a huge stack with like 30 arty. They are wiped out with the loss of not too much maybe 8 art and a couple of infantry. Engineer is born. Don’t know what to do with him.

1880: Shaka Mechs and bombers are killing us on that front. We can’t get time to heal and move on. We have destroyed a large number of troops. Toku builds space elevator. We will lose to him by space I would assume.

1882: we take Eritria from Alex loosing 3 tanks on bad luck. Alex is now off our continent. OK I Make a move on Shaka. We have destroyed some big stacks and the clock is ticking. Although we need pop I think I will raise some of his frontline cities as they will be tough to hold and I want to start denting him. Our only hope is to get Alex back on our side and take out much of Shaka’s territory. Two pronged attack at the 2 forward coastal cities. Might as well go down in flames.

1884: Take both cities. Raze Eziq… Have to keep Kargala..

1886: Oh F***. Now Toku Declares on us. This is not winnable. I will stop here for discussion. I need a break to think before playing the last few turns.

I do not think we can stop pressing against Shaka, he will take peace for all his $$. We just went through all the trouble to knock down all his troops and his front line cities look weak and takable. Unfortunately we may loose our entire empire to Toku. I need a break for thoughts, prayers.

We are dead lost anyway at this point, let's just go down covered in the blood of our enemies. I think it's pretty obvious that our vassal caused these sneak attacks. The time for strategy is over!

But How Alex declare on us? He was friendly with us like forever?
Diplomacy definatly broken.

 ridiculous game...people you suck up to and make friendly wouldn't even consider fighting with you, but use the first chance to back stab you...

at least our game has shown some serious problems with this game or the better AI...I don't what it is, but it's not the way, the game should be designed

There is definate bug in diplomacy calculations.
I noticed, when we declared on Ragnar, we got -1 with Alex to declare on friend.
But after Ragnar become Shaka vassal, and we declare on shake, we got additions -1 from alex for declare on friend, when he actially does not like shaka.

Game assume vassal been teammate, or whatever and conder declaration on master to be a declaration on vassal. When actially it happened other way around, vassal declare on us because of defence pact.

But How Alex declare on us? He was friendly with us like forever?

This doesn't matter with Alex. He is the biggest opportunist ever. I've had an immortal game when we had like +20 with no minuses whatsoever, and he was in no position to survive the war, but he declared on me because his powergraph was higher. I've had a deity game, went for ultraearly rush and my rush stack met with Alex's rush stack going after me, halfway to his border. The guy is crazy.

FWIW(x2) I've never liked the vassal system, also last game I was fighting a war with Genghis Khan, against Isabella, well Genghis vassalized Isabella out from under me and I immediately up and declared war on my game-long ally Genghis to finish the war, I'm sure Genghis wasn't like "WTH", pull that **** and you expect to get messed up for it. It would probably be wrong for there to be no diplomatic consequences for vassalizing some unpopular Civ. Am I going to forget that I hate Isabella and want to take her cities? Actually HAVE to take her cities to relieve cultural pressure? Hell no. Sorry Genghis.

Which raises the question of why you would ever want a vassal? Simple you don't. Or everyone already hates you so you don't care. It's a feature with no real positive strategic use, only serving to add some "excitement" or save some time at the mop-up phase. Those theoretical uses - such as donating the AI gold to upgrade units - doesn't really work. Units are like half or 1-third as effective in the hands of the AI so you aren't gaining a damn thing. I wouldn't say that it breaks Warlords (in fact I find it quite entertaining in the hands of the AI) but it's certainly something you never want to do.
