Add a single word to Civ title

One of the reasons Rhye's mod is fun is because you don't have to manage 50+ cities. On the other hand, some Mod builders believe that bigger is better, and have added so much stuff to the scenario that it is unplayable due to all the units to move, the cities to manage, and the wait time between turns. Even without 3d, taking out a lot of those late game chores of city/unit micromanagement was a very good thing. I'm looking forward to it.

You guys seem to think more is better for some reason, are you compensating for something? Are you having a mid-life crisis? I suppose all of you own little red sports cars too.

I think the word MORE is not proper at least in this thread.
Of course if you look at BIG from the aspect of quantity, then yes it almost always mean MORE.

I am more concern about the feel of a great empire/civilization covers the whole globe, the quality of being BIG! Kind of satisfaction every normal male enjoys.

However I do understand people who don't want BIG, so 2 different games for 2 groups will be the best scenario:

Civ4: The great and big
Civ4: The tiny and cute

Make your choice!

You should have studied harder for your geography...

I suggest you take a look at a globe and count:

If United States conquers all the rest of the world, how many cities do you sum up for the NEW CIVILIZATION OF US?

I suggest you use your brain more, or learn to read English. The gamespot preview wasn't talking about a civ that had conquered the world in modern times, it was talking about a 1 AD civ.

I started this thread for Civ4 title, not Civ4 strictly according to the review of Gamespot. So, why suddenly mention Gamespot or what is it to do with Gamespot? Or is thier globe has total #cities counts to your favorite figure 20-30?

Why bring up gamespot? Because they have the ONLY information on # of cities past 1 AD. By their preview, a 'decently well off' civ will have 5-10 cities at around 1 AD.

Either A) You're basing your little ignorant rant off Gamespot, or B) you're making the whole thing up in the first place.

But they are not the only source of preview info. You should go and revise all other sources...

I don't recall what actually give me the inspiration for the 1 word I add to Civ title

You know I didn't.
I am sorry if I make you feel your are poor in geography or maths... :)

Civilization IV: the Sparse
Civ3's Rhye's of Civilization mod has a similar effect. 5-10 cities, even 400 turns in one version.
Rhye being among the beta-testers, we can now guess from where comes this new gameplay.

Rhye, I just unleashed the Fan Horde on you :mischief:

Revise? You want me to change the other previews?

And Gamespot IS the only current source I have access to for any mid to late game impressions.

I don't (Revise=Read again and again and ... until you find something)

No wonder

Wait, isn't that equivocal to the quick and epic gamespeeds? You'd definitely have in excess of 10 cities playing an epic game.... anways:

Civ IV: MOHAMMAD JIHAD!

NO

Have you left out a zero at the end?
excess of 10 cities is meaningless to me. Do you mean 11 or 111?

Civ IV: The Phantom Matchbox would probably be a more accurate title, given the massive number of flames we've seen over something no one has ever played.

I don't see anything wrong with certain extend of assumption.
In fact a dedicated forum for Civ4 months before it is out is itself a phantom thing...
No assumption at all means no discussion, then what else should everyone does in this forum? Praising the phantom Civ4 all the way till it is out?

Incredible

Hi warpstorm, now I am about 90% sure they are going to have problems with epic game+huge map (especial when you want to be a warmonger).

This is not the only thread to express worries or look for answers on the possibility to have good "BIG and LONG Civ4 game", there are many other threads out there, and I think to certain extend they all affect the initial stage of Civ4 sales ... soon

Unfortunately, if Soren has to skip answering all these threads (so far he dare only to tell epic game has ~600 turns), there are only 2 possibilities:

1) They are still working hard, hopefully the BIG, LONG game can be fine tuned before Civ4 is released (chances is they won't , too late)
2) They have decided to give up this group of players (who always want to play long, epic and big empire and a violent game)

Either way, I foresee patches after patches just to get the game tuned!
