Add custom Terrains?

Ive dug through pretty much everything i could find with no help at all, ive reskined and renamed two vanilla terain types but cant import properly in the game it gets to init graphics and ctd everytime, anyone remember seeing anything related to civ 4 about adding any custom terrains without writing over the vanilla terains? anyhelp would be appreciated.

Don't rename the terrains that is all I know

Actually I would be very interested to know about that as well.
Until you get an answer, can you explain how you customized the terrains ?
What program to use, what file to modify, how to do it ?
I'd really appreciate a bit of help on that ^^
