Additional Forum Styles?

I haven't even worked out how to put the quotes lines around other stuff (have to use cut & paste and quote marks) so dont change anything or I'll be in trouble :)

I like it the way it is. Unless you come up with a really brilliant one, TF, I wouldn't change. It just suits my commie red avatar so well...;).

If others want a different color scheme and it doesn't cause anything such as downtime or what have you I see no reason not to make these.
 
I love the current color scheme, and wouldn't change it for the world. And while we still are on the subject of changing: BRING BACK THE FANATIC ON THE BANNER after all, i'm a CivFanatic not a CivSwordsman :D

EDIT: To give further credibility to this cause, i am switching avatar to the Fanatic
 
Boom! I just had a smashing idea! TF, if you decide for the color choice option, could you consider including 'banner type option' too? So old fashioned guys like myself can have the rather comfy fanatics instead and new guys, or people who simply like the swordsman better, can have that instead?
 
Could you create a color scheme that is all black and white and has nothing but text? This way I would be a lot less likely to get caught posting at work...;)

That's an astoundingly brilliant idea; I can relate to that.... in the past. :D
 
Or, perhaps, a style that doesn't take half an hour to load with a 28K connection!!

But seriously, after looking at the screenshot in the announcement, I might change, it would just take a few months to get used to it...
 
I think the way color scheme now is next to perfect for this site. I actually couldn't Imagine the color scheme on CivFanatics as anything else.
actually I could Imagine it but everything else Im Imagining sucks :lol: anyway since its not broke I don't suggest you fix it ;)
 
Well I don't mind the blue scheme and if I changed to it, and used it for awhile then I would probably like it but for now I like the Red style too much...
 
I did not even look at the sample screenshots! I clicked before they loaded! I like whta I got and won't even look at the new choices, but it is good to have options. :)

You can do the no-pix thing and get super-duper fast downloads, with extreme ease, with the Opera web browser. Click the button, and zap... pix are gone and download is done!
 
Now that i looked at the new(er) scemes, i found this one the most attractive... The blue one was nice, but the green one just reminded me too much of limes and lemons, theyre really sour... :cry:
 
Any possibility of banning those who have changed to a different color scheme/design? :) :goodjob: :hopeful:

You know, I could make a few new color scheme styles for the forum in addition to the current CivFanatics style. You can choose whch style to use in your User CP. Is there any demand for it, or are you perfectly happy with the current style which matches the main site color scheme?

I forgot to mention it's not really a simple thing to make new styles, because I will need to find new buttons for the different color scheme. The red-white buttons would look weird on a blue color style, for example

This is your lucky day. The buttons are no longer an issue. I will make them, in any color, intensity, variation, etc. in a matter of minutes. I was just posting about this in the Blue Button thread, but will continue in this thread form now on!

I think I understand now.... you just begin with the buttons. Well, that's easy . I'll fix the buttons with batch processing . I'm not a graphics person, but I do use software that makes it easy on me . Good batch processing can change about any image characteristic imaginable. I need all the 80+ blue images, as I have managed to collect only about 60 of them from the pages. I see where you have them on your site, but I don't have FTP access, and evidently I've missed snagging some from your pages. Most are tiny. If you could zip and attach them, that would be great. I can fix all 80+ in less than 30 seconds, and will fix several versions for you to look at and decide if you would like to use. I could not find the button list at the vBull site.... maybe they make you pay to enter some of their secret forums, or maybe you get the button list from a hack(3rd party) site. Anyway, I will also do a Semi-Serpia and Serpia set for you. I assume when you have the buttonset, then you just set the background colors, borders, etc. manually. PS, if you want me to fix any other colors, just post or PM, and describe the effect you want, and I'll do them & send them back. e.g. you like a set but they are too bright, too dim, too "whatever". I can also do some more "unique" stuff like extrusions and embossings, etc. All this is not hard to do... takes far less time than writing this one post. The "hard" thing is deciding on what effect looks best.

Specifically, I need this directory (from your root) zipped and attached. It will be a very small file (probably about 60KB).

I have the bulk of these images, and converted them as an example. Here are the blues (be aware that a few of the filenames may not match the ones in your directory exactly, but most will):
