Firaxis claims they will be adding new (uniquely different) Great Leaders for each Civilization in CVI.
Let the fanatics out there have their voice heard and request the Great Leaders you'd like to see/play as in the new iteration.
To make this list short and up to point, come up with only up up to 3 Great Leaders for each existing Civ in CV (including all expansions) (you can include the already existing Leader)

I'll start: (please use upper case, if possible)

CIVILIZATION: RUSSIA
EXISTING GREAT LEADER: CATHERINE (the great)
ADDITIONAL GREAT LEADERS:
Leader 1 PETER (the great)
Leader 2 LENIN

I wish it were so, but have not heard anything about this at all.

Haven't heard about this. Do you have a source?

It says so in the CVI intro, "more great leaders, each with their own unique personalities and play styles", or have I misheard?

Ah I misunderstood what you wrote to be about the Great People mechanic (e.g. Great Scientist, Merchant etc.), but that's not what you're talking about. You're just talking about which Civ leaders we'll have. My bad.

Um.

Civ: New Zealand
Leader: John Key
Trait: Trigger Casus Belli by pulling pony tails

No, people get it. But this was already discussed in another thread, or two. But yeah, where was this confirmed to be a feature?

It might have been said but I think it could just be more leaders than vanilla Civ V or leaders who haven't been in the game before. Multiple leaders per Civ is by no means confirmed.

I hope you're wrong.
Don't like being stuck playing against same opponent for so many turns.

I agree with having different opponents but I'd rather each leader had their own Civ. There's so many cultures that could be implemented that there's not much point making a bunch of leaders for the same one.

For the sake of discussion here are a few that I think would make alternatives to the civs that will likely be in.

England: Richard the Lionheart, Henry V or Henry VIII
Richard is probably the weakest of those historically but him and Henry VIII would both be big characters which is what the devs seem to be looking for. Henry V would be an outside choice with the medieval feel (Longbowmen and almost being king of France) and if they wanted a British DLC civ at a later point with Victoria, he'd be a good one to differentiate. That said, I think it's most likely they'll stick with Elizabeth.

Russia: Ivan the Terrible
I don't think Ivan would really get in ahead of your suggestions but again with the characters - he is a pretty big one - especially if they want a scary one. However, I doubt they'd go with that because making Russia look like 'bad guys' might be a little bit political.

Mongolia: Kublai or Ogedai
Neither really deserves to be in more than Genghis but they would both put a different spin what has always been a dedicated aggressive civ. Ogedai would be the one that builds at home while destroying abroad or Kublai lead a Mongol civilization that takes full advantage of the lands it invades.
