Please do not vote for the Abstain option! If you wish to abstain simply do not vote at all or post in this thread that you are abstaining.

There are two options for this vote. If the first option gets more votes we will publicly support the proposal to appoint Plako as the admin for this game. If the second option gets more votes, we will explore other options, beginning by asking DaveMcW if he is willing to admin this game.

This poll will run for five days. Votes cast will be private.

Votes for the abstain option may be counted as votes to explore other options. If you have already voted for "Abstain" and do not wish your vote to count with "Explore other options", then please state so in this thread.

Sorry, trying to do this on my phone and I messed it up. Ignore this one and I will try again.

Edit: Nevermind, seems that this worked after all.

For clarification and reference, I am abstaining from giving a vote on this poll even if it is private (that means I am not even pressing the Abstain option).

Abstain should not be counted as an "explore other options" vote. If the people who voted "abstain" wanted their vote to be an "explore other options" vote, then they would have voted "explore other options."

If it makes some feel better, don't even bother including the abstain numbers in the final analysis. Right now it's 7-4-2. If the poll closed right now, we could say option one won 7-4, 63% to 37%, with two people saying "Don't care which option wins, just want the team to know I'm here" or "This vote involves me, personally, too much. I just want the team to know I'm here anyway."

I don't like your interpretation of results. Abstain shouldn't be neglected.

as I see the results the "yes to plako" option leads with small margin of 53:47 votes.

It's like in presidential votes you have 3 candidates and you would say the one with least votes doesn't matter and the winner is the current leader (because if you count only votes for them the one leads 60+). Doesn't work that way.
Some vote systems throw away "neglectable" amount of votes, for example here in CZE in parliament votings parties with less then 5% votes give basically they votes to everyone who is above 5%, but we talk here about votes with like 10-15 parties... 2 votes out of ~13 is definitely not small amount.

If you don't reach majority in 1st round, you have to go to 2nd round with only 2 options available.

Btw not sure with rules of polls now, but the decision with over 50% votes wins or most votes wins or we need to have bigger consensus?

as you can see giving out 3-way poll skews the results and indeed can lead to misinterpretation of results.... would be better to make it 2 options poll in first place.

Well, no, I wouldn't throw away the third-place candidate, as that is an actual candidate. Abstain isn't a candidate.

then it shouldn't be offered as an standalone option in vote... for me it has the same wage... aka "all votes count"

maybe you would have like 2-way vote...but it isn't... you can't throw votes out the window just because you think they are not votes...

Well, I did post:
If it makes some feel better, don't even bother including the abstain numbers in the final analysis.
It's obvious this isn't the way to go- I was just throwing an option on the table.

I was mainly concerned with the counting abstain as a vote for a different option. Count "abstain" as "abstain."

fair enough....

"yes" has 7 out of 13 votes...still majority, but a bit different then what you wrote earlier about 60+%

I abstained, because I actually could not care less. I have no experience with Plako and who am I to judge? I suggest the majority should choose and if majority abstains, that means team cannot make a decision. (Currently we are voting for Plako)

I think an abstain vote is a perfectly legimate if slightly nuanced option. In this poll an abstain vote will have the same practical effects as "explore other options."

Alright, the vote is closed with 9 for approving Plako, 5 for exploring other options, and 2 abstaining (10-4-2 if we count 2metra's switch).

I think it's time to publicly approve Plako as admin. 2metraninja, would you make the post as team leader?

OK, will do in couple of hours.

Plako, we are vesting in you the power to be admin in this game and we put our hopes for fair and successful game. Congrats, and a personal wishing from me: To be without much job to do :D
