Got it. I'm up on 3 sg's, and got 2 floorball matches tomorrow. I might need more time.

No problem.

Question: Was it a good choice to go to Republic? Would Monarchy have been better? about 50% of the unhappiness is caused by war weariness... I was thinking Rep would be good for commerce, but didn't factor in WW...

Answer: Republic was probably the worst choice. Tactics will have to change so that our troops strike only from within our own borders as every turn troops are in foreign territory war weariness increases. Also, we have to make sure we win battles with minimal casualties for every trooper lost increases war weariness. Interesting challenge before us.

Getting allies will help with war weariness so an alliance with Abe will help. And signing a peace treaty with Inca (who are no longer on the continent) will help even more.

Well damn. So I guess... Monarchy would've been better? What about Feudalism? As most of our towns are fairly small, would that be decent? (But then we can't $ rush?)

When would Republic be good? Most SG's that I read about swtich to republic, and same with general strategizing, I hear Rep. coming up... Why not this time?

Feudalism has the war weariness of Republic, the corruption of Despotism and the troop support of Communism. The only thing going for it is the food bonuses. It is a disastrous government unless your towns are really small and your army really big and you want your towns to grow a lot before you switch to some other government.

For this game Monarchy would have been a better government but no switch was really necessary. Republic is the best all-around government. Its has only one major weakness, war weariness, and one minor, unit support costs, which both can be overcome by its strength: commerce.

So if you are are skilled at fighting short decisive and victorious wars republic will provide the commercial power necessary to finance them and the technology to fight them.

Will play after after school.

Quick summary of turns.

We took St. Regis, Razed salamanca, Niagara falls. Troops in position to attack cattaraugus in 2 turns. Grand River flipped once, lost 1 Medieval

I think we lost city because of volcano

What an extensive report you have

I have it, will play tonight or tomorrow...
bump me if you don't hear from me in couple of days...
I tend to forget stuff lately

Pre-turn:
What's the big idea with building Pentagon in Chichen???
This is THE MOST USELESS WONDER in our situation ever!!!!
Cancel that immediately. To avoid huge shield loss switch to MoM - that will generate our GAs.
Building pentagon in our situation is a big NO-NO.
Never build Pentagon until you reach end of IA and have tons of units. That is just silly useless and waste of shields.
Also this is a training game and i would prefer each teammate to leave detailed log on what they did so everybody on the team can better follow and understand the game.

Second huge No-No - What is the big idea behind mining hills near totally 100% corrupted cities????
Cancel all those silly improvements tasks.
Why haven't we built Forbidden palace yet??
I've changed to builds in almost every corrupted city to settlers. Why the heck we need a marketplaces and other improvements in 100% corrupted cities that we will never use and will never be built. All corrupted cities should either build settlers or wealth or have temples rushed if expansion needed.
Am I on a grumpier side today or something???
But i certainly don't like what i see. :-)
Very very bad and rushed turn set.

I am making peace with Inca and getting theology and gunpowder from them.
Rushed courthouse in what i think would be a good location for FP. Rushed quite few knights and settlers...
Why would we keep all these money for. Sign America into MA against Iro.. I want their army to get a little beaten up before we declare on Lincoln.

Lux slider is upped to 40%... I don't remember last time game was passed to me in such a bad shape... Lux is back to 10% Hires 2 clowns in Copan Market is to be ready in 2 turns anyway to take care of happiness there.

T1. 860AD. Captured Cattarugus. Sending all those workers back home.. We have bunch of land unimproved in our core to take care about.

IBT. Wow... Volcano erupted near Intombe, but missed.

T2. 870AD... Started improving core. MM bunch of cities. Will take Iro's capital next turn. Built 3 more cities.

T3. 880AD MoM is built and we entered GAs. :) Captured Alegheny. Founded more cities. We are at 43% of dom limit and gap is closing. More cities are due next turn. FP in 15 turns but the way things are going we will have little use of it.

T4. 890AD. Built more cities we are at 47% land and 77%pop of dom limit. Captured Oil springs....

T5. Log entry is missing

T6.910AD. Captured Centralia and Tonawanda. We are at 51%dom limit.

T7. 920AD. Moving troops along, worker tasks, build 2 new cities.

T8. 930AD. Same as above.

T9. 940AD. Captured Tyendenaga. Iro's are down to 2 cities and the problem i am having is that those cities behind american cities and i don't want to make RoP with Lincoln since he is our next immediate target.. Ulundi riots.

T10. 950AD Just moved some workers and troops aroung.

Post-turn: Next player please improve hills around our Chichen ASAP. Improve and MM core in the best way possible. We still have some wetlands to clean and some hills and mountains and grass land to improve. I expect if not next but the following player to finish this game. Continue rushing settlers in former Iro and Inca cities and fill the gap when advancing on america. Frontpage palace will be ready in 7 turns but i doubt we will have much use out of it.
We are at 56% of domination limit so if we raze 2 or 3 american cities and then fill the gaps with settlers we should be done with this game.
I also rushed temples in my last couple of turns. Those will take care about extra more tiles.

Also remember very important fact: The more cities you have in republic the better. Cities help to pay for unit upkeep.
We had 4 knights and other units when i started and paid 73gpt
Now we have 18 knights and about the same number of other units and pay only 26gpt. Feel the difference??? Most of it due the fact that i increased number of towns we have.

Now we have 11 turns of MA with America against Iro's. I hope America will make peace with them sooner than that.
I am also okay to declare on America anyway unless we REALLY REALLY want to keep our reputation at this point.
We should be ready to declare in couple of turns.

and the save

I opened the save and it said that we are 94 tiles OVER the dom limit!!! Then I realized that we don't have the required percentage of the map known so it only uses visible tiles.

I vote that we just go ahead and declare on Abe and get it over with. We shouldn't need too many of his cities to reach the tile limit and the pop limit apparently is near or over the limit. I can play tomorrow. I might be able to squeeze it in tonight but I won't have much time.

Is the Motor City the only American city that's not in the west? It looks like you have some troops stationed by it and it's defended by a spearman so we should be ok.

What kind of military does Abe have? Pikes & MDI? or knights?

Yes, Detroit is the only city not on the west and i have few knights there waiting already.

Abe has knights and templars..
That is why i signed MA at the first place with him so he can waste some of those on Iro's.
He must have pikes in cities but it shouldn't be a problem. We overwhelm him and we are in our GA.
He doesn't have ven invention yet so no muskets for him.

So should I wait while trying to spur Abe into declaring on us?

I'm not going to trash our rep... If we have to wait until the next turnset then so be it. It looks like this is going to be a boring turnset.

I hope to play tonight. I'll try to keep a good turn log unlike my last one in TR02.

Immediately demand all of Abe's gold he caves
then demand Detroit he refuses and his attitude goes to cautious
demand Detroit a second time and he bcomes annoyed
tell Abe to leave our ground he agrees

t1 960 AD- lots of builds complete....
Demand detroit from Abe
rush temple in New Quir and New Lazapa

t2 970 AD- Abe bumps us during interturn and I decide to demand Detroit and he becomes furious!!
hurry 5 settlers in western towns
move knights outside of Detroit's walls due to the border expansion in the two forementioned cites
Demand detroit

t3 980 AD- Abe bumps us during interturn and I decide to demand Detroit
Troop movements

t4 990 AD- Abe signed peace with Hiawatha :D :satan:
Abe asks us to leave.....comply so we don't have to move next turn and can come right after him
Call up Abe and tell him that this is the beginning of the end
take detroit losing an elite 5hp knight to a 2hp spear
take miami with two AC armies
take new york with one fight

t5 1000 AD- move troops to take washington

t6 1010 AD- take houston
take chicago
take washington
found a couple of cities.
and presto that's it!!

Thanks for the game and thank you to our trainers, Bede & dman !!

Nice finish TR.

It was fun fighting our way out of what turned out to be a rather awful start position. I knew we'd get there before the High Middle Ages.

Well done, you guys.

And here I was getting ready to roll. Well done TR!

Good job Tubby!!
I knew you'd finish this game. :)

Another impressive result and I bet you don't think monarch games are hard no longer? :D

Congrats guys, very impressive! Hope some of you will join my second SG after I finish my own or invite me to one of your own.
