AG1 - I dream of Dromons (deity)

Fantastic [dance]

There were moments when I thought it would be impossible:
- when we captured the Lighthouse 8 turns before the others got Astronomy
- when the Mongol invasion took a lot of time and war weariness went through the roof

But amazingly we pulled through and came back in style. Thank you all for this great game (including SaaM, who got us our Lighthouse :) ). I enjoyed this one thorougly because I got what I hoped for and a lot more. Great team

Great game, guys. Sorry I had to drop, but as I said, Im not a tactician. And yes, it was me who gots us our precious... Me! Not them... Shut up, you. No one wants to hears from a stupid little dropper, you... But the players are my friends... Noboddy is your friends, you idiotic...

And it just goes on like that

Cool! Congrats folks. :D

I look forward to the Sid game with glee.

Congrats all. That was definitely a difficult variant. I hadn't realized just how weak bombardment from boats was compared to other forms of bombardment.

I think I will be building more carriers in the future. The mobile bomber base concept is really useful especially on a Archipeligo map. The only real difficulty with this is you need sufficient escort.

Also the fact that iron clads upgrade to destroyers (which I hadn't known before) will make it much more likely for me to buy that tech off the AI and to build ironclads for upgrade; at least on archipelligo maps.

What I thought was the most useful aspect of the naval bombardment was that after the navy in port was redlined, the bombardment was lethal to any airplanes stationed in that city.

Once aircover was taken out, bombers could be used to some effect.
Normally I build neither navy, nor air, as that is not really needed when you can build two artillery pieces instead of a destroyer/cruiser.
