AG2 - Democracy rules the world

It's a matter of style really - in Conquests, I have the impression that it's a good idea to invest some beakers in a tech before attempting to buy it to reduce the price. I haven't figured out what the best way to pick up tech advancements on deity level in Conquests yet :(.

But as I said, it's all good :).

I'm awake and have nothing much to do. So I swap myself with CarlosMM (we are still early in the game so not that exiting. I will build with Jack's dotmap in mind).

IHT:I buy the Wheel from France for 88 gold. Research to Mysticism, no Horseback Riding (unknown yet) at max (20 turns). Horses are close to Settler Factory.

Turn 1 (2350 BC) Goody hut gives us a skilled warrior.

Turn 2 (2310 BC) Washington: granary->settler. France and Russia know HBR.

Turn 3-7 (2270-2110 BC)

Turn 8 (2070 BC) Washington: settler->barracks. Russia finishes the Oracle. Settler goes east. One scout sees yellow borders. Other scout pops Mysticism [party]. But it is known by all AI :(

Turn 9 (2030 BC) We meet the Dutch, who are up Iron Working and Writing. Other scout sees pink borders.

Turn 10 (1990 BC) The pink borders belong to China (up HBR, IW, Writing, Math). I buy HBR from China for 3 gpt and 3 gold. England and Babylon don't know the tech. I trade England HBR and 3 gpt for IW. We are officially broke and research goes to Math at minimum%. It is already known and we may pop a hut with an unknown tech.

Iron is west of us at the sea :)

Turn 12 (1910 BC) Boston founded on the dot I made.

Turn 14 (1830 BC) Settler Factory grows to 5. Lux to 30%. We see another goody hut.

Turn 15 (1790 AD) Germany finishes the Colossus in Leipzig. Russia starts the Great Lighthouse. Scout pops a settler :goodjob: It is miles and miles away but probably save from barbarians as long as we aren't at war with one of the civs.

All AI knows Math and Writing. With very much luck we may pop Poly? We should place 2 or 3 cities east of us before we think about settling west. There is still one AI out there and last turn showed that there is also an odd chance for more goody huts.

Ya know what... throw me into this mix. I could always use a tempermental war game. Just dont hand me the save until next rotation. Bit o'stuff to do first (like see Wicked for one...)

SaaM
Who is playing this game as Karl Rove (to all non americans: the short bald fat guy (not Cheney) who really runs the White House)

PreTurn - Dunno what happened to the Germans in this game, we are up Alphabet on them. Everyone else is up Writing and Maths on us.

IBT - Troops get autokicked from Russian soil. It moves our warrior one extra square in the right direction.

Turn 01 (1750BC) - Move around a bit. Aggie? When you said that settler was a long way away you weren't ****in kidding. Germany now has Alphabet, dangit, I was gonna sell that to them last turn.

IBT - French are building Mausolleum.

Turn 02 (1725BC) - Washington Barracks -> Spearman. Factory Granary -> Settler.

IBT - Dutch are building the lighthouse. Chinese are building the Pyramids. Russians are building Mausolleum.

Turn 03 (1700BC) - Entertainer in Factory. Lux to 20%.

IBT - Babs demand 20gold. I give in.

Turn 04 (1675BC) -

IBT - English are building the Mausolleum.

Turn 05 (1650BC) - Whip a settler in factory to avoid hitting size 7 next turn.

Turn 06 (1625BC) - Washington spear -> spear. factory settler -> settler and riots :p Lux to 10%.

Turn 07 (1600BC) - Boston worker -> temple. Lux to 30%.

Turn 08 (1575BC) -

Turn 09 (1550BC) - Lux to 40%.

IBT - English demand 20gold. We give.

Turn 10 (1525BC) - Washington spear -> spear. Lux to 10%, entertainer hired in factory so that we hit size 6 as settler is born.

And thats that.

Carlos, you still have a worker to use and germany doesnt have maths yet. Everyone else has at least Maths and Writing over us. And the dutch must have MM as they have started the Lighthouse.

You mean that CarlosMM can take it? Or did you assume that you two swapped?

Ooops.

I did indeed assume that we had swapped. Now looking at it, it is obvious that Carlos wanted a skip.

Sorry

pre: switch Washington to warrior - in 2 as growth, instead of in 4 (too late for growth) as the spear would be. if we are attacked now it doesn't matter what defenders we have ;)

(1) spear arrives in settler fac, clown--> taxman.
(2) settlers in both washington, new one in 5, and settler factory, new one in 5, too
(3) Babylon - Pyrs, Amsterdam Maus.
(4) I decide to make the fur town coastal. We should cover land (wide settling), then fill gaps - otherwise some orange 'friends' may soon pressure us
(5) Philadelphia is coastal now ;) lux to 20% for settler factory
(6) Atlanta should build a temple soon to grab the fish and whales.
(7) 2 settlers, lux to 0, MM SF to NOT use wheat but BG
(8) horses connected, moves
(9) lux to 10
(10)
settler near England in place, other should go to outermost grass to grab both fish and leave room for cities in between.
