It is about selflessness. You are not thinking about what is best for you, but is best for others. Also sex plays absolutely no part in this kind of love, it does in Eros love, hence where we get erotic from. The greatest display of agape love is to give your life for the life of others.

For self-less love that most of us associate with agape love, I prefer the word compassion.

I would define it as gazing or beholding through being a sight. This sight may be anything, of any description, modifier or excuse. One beholds it. Agape is having nothing more than goodwill towards such an entity, no matter that it give you no gain, nor that it cost you your life. You look upon it and give unconditional charitable love.
