I have kind of been wondering the age range of civ fans. I thought it would be neat for us to find out. All you have to do is type your age or age range.
I'll start, i'm 14 and started playing civ 3 once it first came out and have been addicted ever since.
Poll:http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=127198

I'm 16. I started like 4 years ago when I first saw my brother play Civ 2 and I was just amazed by it.

I'm 33 years old and started the series with Civ3. I was thinking of starting a thread just like this, you should add a poll with this thread would make a nice way to compile info.

There has been a similar threads in the past although I haven't seen one in awhile. In any event, no harm in doing one again...I'm 34 and have been playing ever since the original Civilization came out. I remember getting it for Christmas while I was in college. I don't remember the exact year but it probably was somewhere in the 1990-1991 timeframe. I may play other games but I invariably come back to the latest version of Civ.

Need help, not quite sure how to do the poll? Anyone help me. I just started being a member about a week ago. (but been playing civ3 since it came out...nnniiiiiccceeee!)

There have been numerous threads on ages but the shearch funtion doesn't want to find them.

BTW, I'm 18 and I was suprised to find out that I am older then most people on this forum.

I am 35 years old and have been playing Civ since the original game back in 90-91 when I was in college. I have played the series ever since and have not really played any other games consistently. I recently bought more RAM and a better video card in anticiaption of CIV IV release.

Go to edit thread and scroll down to additional options, there you should be able to add a poll from one of the options. I pretty sure you can still add one after the thread has been started.

im 28. I have been playing since civ1.

I am 24. I first played the original Civ at a friend's house back in the early 90s. I bought Civ II the day it was released and it is my favorite game to this day. I have probably spent more time playing Civ than I would like to admit and more time playing Civ II than any other game. I can't wait for Civ IV and have already set aside a full day and a half of initial play time.

I'm in my early 30's. A friend in high school had Civ I- thought it looked cool but I was still stuck with an Apple IIe with a green/black monochrome text monitor so I never got to play... Picked up Call to Power in a bargin bin about 4 or 5 years ago. Temporarily lost it while moving, so ordered Civ 3 a couple of years ago. I don't have much time to play and I'm still not all that good at it, but its sure easy to waste time at this site while at work! Definitely looking forward to Civ 4, although wish it was out on Mac too!

I'm 17.

I mainly watched my brothers and sisters (around 14 years older) play civ1 when I was about 4 and started to play properly when I was probably around 7. Remeber getting really confused by the isometric grid in civ2...

Started playing at about age 10-11 when Civ I came out and have bought each subsequent one as it comes out. Am waiting for Civ IV with baited breath.......
Am now 25.

I'm 27, half-mad and as I can remember, I started to play Civ1, at a friend's home or maybe it was on the PC of my father. I may have switched to Civ2 soon enough, learning that it were pretty the same that Civ1 but just better. Since then, I enjoyed the game and played like crazy. I rated this game the best game I ever played in my personnal game list. A lot later, I pirated the Civ3 version on the Internet and enjoyed it pretty well, on the net also. Then I pirated the two extensions. Then after, I bought it. :p Maybe I enjoyed this version less than Civ2; the discovering and enjoyment was consumed -and abused-, and maybe some elements were differents. Now I can feel a little bored by the series, but seek for Civ4 to revive the flame.

Can't believe I'm doing this.....I'm 40 being playing civ since it was a boardgame..and evey 'puter incarnation since

I haven't come across any age threads yet. Kind of assumed it was 'not discussed' or it just never came up.

I'm 22. Played Civ I on a compilation of games at some point when I was about 11 or 12 and really enjoyed it along with a few other classics. Stopped gaming for a few years, then decided to look for a newer style game that was as fun as that 'game I used to play on the 386.' Conquests was released at that point, so I bought the Civ 3/PTW pack with it. So I don't understand what people mean when they say they had to wait for things to be fixed in Civ 3. Now I sit on this site at work all the time.

EDIT: Welcome to the site EdCase in case no one has welcomed you before, nice username choice too.
