Hi,
I just sent a PM to all who had so far shown interest in this game. (Had to split it in two PMs, because civfanatics allows a maximum of only 5 recipients per PM?!

)
Anyway, I liked this scenario a lot, back when I played it in 2003 and would love to play it with humans. At the moment it looks like Phoenix_Fire91 has lost interest, so with your permission I would like to volunteer as host for this one. Anyone who's still interested, please report back to me, and then we'll start the game in two weeks (December 13th). Any free positions will be filled by AI.
Open questions I'd like to discuss:
What difficulty level would you like for the AI? I'm currently playing another PBEM (Rise of Japan) and here the AI is set to Regent and offers absolutely no challenge at all...

I would be fine with Emperor, but if someone would feel uncomfortable with that, we could try monarch?!
I would like to be one of the South-American tribes. (Like to be the underdog...

). I'll try this scenario a bit over the weekend (has been so long ago since I last played it...) and then I'll pick one of the three.
Edit: At the moment I tend towards the Mayas, as they have the best UU, but this starting position really looks hopeless, so I may change my mind and take one of the other two?!
Second Edit: Ok. changed my mind and will try the Aztecs now...
So far two or three have signed up for Portugal, but assuming that Phoenix dropped out, Spain would be free again. So how about Defacto takes Spain?
Here is now the final roster:
- Aztec - Lanzelot (Host)
- England - Eclipse4449
- France - muzbang
- Portugal - TomBxx
- Dutch - AI
- Maya - AI
- Inca - AI
- Spain - Hawklord
And last but not least: please sign up only if you are determined to play this game until the "bitter end". If you can't be 100% sure that you'll stay the distance and play without too much delay, then please don't join. PBEM is a lot of fun (especially with the human-to-human diplomacy), but if one of the players drops out or delays every turn for a week, it spoils all the fun for the rest.
I propose the rule that if someone can't play for more than 3 days, then he should announce it here, so the others know. And if someone can't play for more than a week, he should try and find a substitute for that time.
Thanks for your interest,
Lanzelot
The Age of Discovery has started!
Update: Hawklord replaced Defacto during turn 2.
