AI Capturing Military Academy

Pounder,

from what i've seen and from testing our mod as well.

1 = no

2 = yes

hope this helps.

I personally just make a SW that spawns armies. That seems like it should work well, especially if you couple it with some other attributes that are useful.

Does the AI actually load units into those armies.

I was just reminded of the Conquests Middle Ages Scenario where the English start with an army with one unit in it, the AI would never load a second unit into that army, is there an explanation for this.

In SOE the AI does load armies. Also in my personal epic mod I made a small wonder that produces an ancient army and the AI loads units and uses those ancient armies.

Yeah. But depends on what units it loads first. They will only load units as fast as the fastest unit in it. (so if it loads a swordsman, it'll load knights in, but if it loads 1 knight in, then it's a 1 knight army)

EDIT: If I scrolled down 1 post... :crazyeye:

That's how it worked for Vanilla, but when they added the extra movement in the expansion packs for the army and they messed that up so it is the first unit loaded's movement plus one.

So if the swordsman is the first loaded, then it must be movement of 2 or better. If a knight is loaded first it would not load another knight, would be movement of 3 or better.

This is why it would be helpful to get the source code so these terrible bugs they introduced could be fixed.

That explains a lot. I made a certain army in my scenario that could only have a certain type of unit loaded into it. I noticed that the AI would only ever load one unit - must be the movement problem.

The simple way round - give the army an 8 HP bonus, and allow only one unit in the army. End result - a standard swordsman army would have between 11 and 13 HP.
