for those now playing C3C, the AI tend to go communism or Fascism during a long war ?

i know for C3 is communism but now C3C having Fascism too.. so i am wondering

If you fought a long war they would eventually go communist. I've seen games where the whole world is communist but the human player.

I think its good that they added another "wartime" government, since communist isn't good for large civs.

Why isn't communism good for large nations?

Previously in c3 and ptw I rarely ever used communism, as it was so vastly inferior to democracy. I would always spend big bucks on the happiness slider before ever going to communism in the event of war weariness. If things got too bad I would switch to Republic. But now, in conquests, with the added Secret police headquarters, communism is looking much more appealing, and should work out a lot better for large, warlike nations.

In my current game, in the early Modern age, Ive been in a long war that is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon, and my people are pissed. I'm debating whether to go with a communist government or the fascist government. I'm the Sumerians, with the capital in Ur and the Forbidden Palace in Thebes, smack in the middle of conquered Egpyt. I would love to build a Secret Police headquarters in Athens. I would have the equivilent of 3 seperate yet fully functionally civilizations at my command.

Any thoughts on fascism vs. communism and the preferred modern age warmonger government?

Large, spread-out nation: Communism

Large, with many cities nation: Fascism

With communism, every new city you get adds corruption to ALL the other cities. With Fascism you don't get this particular 'penalty'.

In C3C, I prefer communism but the AI prefers fascism, in my experience.

For communism, the Secret Police Headquarters really helped out this government ALOT. But you won't be getting Great Wonders with this government unless you have a very well timed pre-build.

Fascism still keeps the same method of other governments in that you have a 'core' of cities, so your cities that already had all their improvements built in them (because they had low corruption in all other governments) will not drop in efficiency when you get more cities, like what happens in communism. Getting new cities that have no improvements in them really hurts communism, but not the other governments.

So you get a Palace, Forbidden Palace, and Secret Police HQ? 3 corruption reducing centres?

Yes

No, the Secret Police HQ is not supposed to continue functioning if you change back to another govt.

OTOH, it has been reported that it does (bug).

Fascism seems to be the new Fundamentalism, though not quite as long term.

Good point, Doc. Until the (hopefully coming soon) patch, these hurt you to build them. During the beta, however, communism was very good at fighting corruption even in huge sprawling empires. Let's all hope that a patch to fix this is released soon.

I've been waiting to try out communism, especially when I heard that they added the Secret Police HQ. I think communism could be very powerful with all three built and with a little time to get some basic infrastructure in your formerly corrupt cities. But I guess I have to wait on that.
