Perfect timing for this thread as I just encountered an interesting problem (bug?)
Despite having been able to do it in previous games, I suddenly cannot deploy a fighter on patrol from a carrier. I have no mods loaded and the only difference is I tried an Industrial Era start. Could Steam have sent me an update I am unaware of? Anyone else experience this?
May I ask if the problems are similar to these issues?

my real games rarely make it as far as aircraft.

Sorry, it was not apparent to me that people were just discovering fighters inability to deploy from carriers. I play extended games lasting well into future tech and have known this for some time. I personally don't have a problem with it, as I can easily rationalize this.

No, I've never been able to deploy from a carrier. Perhaps the plane thought it was still based on land.Have you ever experienced being able to deploy a carrier based fighter? I could swear I recall doing it in my last couple games which were Ancient Era starts.

You cannot tune them in on patrol, was all done from a carrier
Well I have played quite a few science victories... its just carriers are not a normal requirements but sureI dare you play that late without it
Also, we can't deploy fighters in the ocean from a carrier anymore... I think that prevents the bugs with movement but how odd is that a carrier full of fighters can't defend itself from air attacks?
Well they all intercept using the same rules and have a 1 tile range although aircraft supposedly can only defend once.
I just checked a few while doing some nuke tests (4 sub nukes manages to waste 4 SAM protected cities, 4 bombers failed to bomb 4 cities with mobile sams)
Biplane = 55
AA =70
Destroyer = 70
Battleship = 70
Minas Garaeas = 75
Mobile SAM = 80
Fighter = 80
Missile Cruiser = 90
Jet fighter = 85
So protecting a city with a missile cruiser ideally, inland a mobile SAM will be even vs a fighter which seems odd.
