All text in game is English except for tech tree

My tech tree is in French, even when I mouse over it. Everything else is in English, however.

How do I fix this to make it all English? I have the latest version, 1.0.1.275.

First thing you should do is to go in Steam to library and check there the local Civ5 files. That might fix a maybe broken text file (sounds like that, doesn't it?).

Are these files in my installation directory? Instead of looking in Steam?

hmm? They should be in the installation directory, which is a subdirectory of the steam directory.
But why do you ask?

I was asking if it was in my C:/Program Files folder.

Only if Steam is installed there (i have atm no idea what the standard Steam installation path is, sorry ).

To check the local files in steam:

From the steam library right click on the name of the game in the list on the left and choose properties
Select the local files tab
Press the button to verify integrity of the game cache.

Okay then I have to do it some other way.

Edit: Does anybody know someone who knows which XML file or whatever it is that controls the text on the tech tree? Maybe I can substitute the "bugged" version with an older one? Or just tell me the location where the tech tree info is stored (which folder, etc.).

Why other way? You cannot check the integrity? Are you using a "non" official game?
Are you using any mods that could be in french, btw?

The tech tree is located in Assets/UI/game/techtree. There lies the .xml files. (All under civilization installation folder).

I found out that directory and fixed the issue. Thanks for the help.
