Ugh.
Search your feelings.
I didn't find anything in the three Disney Sequels at all quotable compared to the Lucas-made six. But you could make one of those T-shirts that had a fad in the '90's that used to say, "Everything I learned about life, I learned from <Insert Popular Franchises>," and covered with quotes, saying, "Everything I leanred about politics I leanred from the Star Wars Prequels."Ugh.
There is no way on Force's Brown Tatooine that you think this is the best line from all nine movies.
Could we please dispense with spamming an insult with ableist origins. You only get to pick ONE (1) Line!
No saying lame things to try to pick more lines than one, or not pick any line.. that's lame... By all means explain/defend your pick but don't hedge, because that's lame
Lame things people say when asked to pick their favorite Star Wars line:
1. There are so many good ones; how could I possibly choose? Lame
2. I like this one, but this other one is really great, too.= Lame
3. I think the funniest one is X, but the most memorable one is Y = Lame
4. Writing dialogue is not Lucas' strength, but you gotta admit that a lot of lines from the movies have entered the cultural consciousness = Lame
Just pick ONE line.
The fact is, I only popped into the thread late in the last page, and read no parameters of such a challenge, nor did the few responses to it I saw make it clear such a challenge was parameters was specifically made at some poinnt (likely in the last few pages, I guess) of the 246 pages of this thread. And, my point, in lack of knowlledge of such a challenge with such specific parameters, was tied to a tangential, but as I view it, relevant viewpoint. You only get to pick ONE (1) Line!

So certain are you..!There is no way on Force's Brown Tatooine that you think this is the best line from all nine movies.
I have a bad feeling about this.I have and I'm afraid to report that I find my anger leading to hate.
But that's exactly what I did.I mean--as @Sommerswerd twice correctly realized, before then again veering astray (and forgetting that he'd already registered his vote)--that the ST movies have no particularly good lines in them.
(Chewbacca eating a roasted Porg may well be the best visual; I'll put that challenge to the group next.)
So in a challenge to identify the best line from the Star Wars films, one won't find oneself drawing from 7-9.
I'm so worried.We have an official launch date:.If it's not good, I'm gonna be mad.Spoiler :August 23rd.

First of all my good sir... I did no such "veering"... My favourite line vote was duly noted and registered, emphatically so, with a flourish, specifically a reference to wanting to vote it 100 times over, along with specific personal anecdotal support for my choice. I was merely observing that the ST movies are very lean on those iconic, memorable lines that the OT is replete with... but that upon reflection, I regard it as technically incorrect to say, in absolute terms that the ST contained "no good lines" at all.I mean--as @Sommerswerd twice correctly realized, before then again veering astray (and forgetting that he'd already registered his vote)--that the ST movies have no particularly good lines in them.
That is another good point that I thought about when you first issued the challenge, the ST's strengths, such as they are, are much more about the visuals as opposed to the dialogue... the ST has some pretty stunning and/or iconic visuals... but I didn't want to "veer" away from your challenge, or start weaseling out of the question with equivocations and subject changing...(Chewbacca eating a roasted Porg may well be the best visual; I'll put that challenge to the group next.)
Another factor going on here, to be fair... is that we can't really give the ST a fair shake in this competition. Think about how many times we have watched the OT episodes (or even the PT episodes) versus the ST. For my part, I can damn near recite the lines of the OT, nearly verbatim, from memory, because I've seen the movies so many times. I've only seen the ST films a few times each and I've only seen TRoS ONCE!So in a challenge to identify the best line from the Star Wars films, one won't find oneself drawing from 7-9.
Not from me you didn'tBut, boy, have I got a bunch a evasive half-answers from this set of so-called Star Wars fans!

No, not from you. And not from Lex. (And the same choice, to boot.) And I'll take aelf at his word that he likes that line from TLJ.Not from me you didn't![]()
You know it to be true. But the rest of you (the royal you) are all just scoundrels. A wretched hive of scum and villainy.*
That's impossible!royal you
Obi-Wan and Yoda - and even Vader during a brief glimpse on the Death Star - don't recognize them, either in Episodes 4 and/or 5, when they should, as well.I am probably noticing this 21 years after everyone else, in Episode 2 AotC we meet a young Owen Lars, who is living with C3PO presumably for the years since Shmi Skywalker was sold to his father. He also meets R2D2 at this time.
In Episode 4 ANH Owen Lars meets C3PO and R2D2 and does not recognise them.

"If Droids could think, none of us would be here."Obi-Wan and Yoda - and even Vader during a brief glimpse on the Death Star - don't recognize them, either in Episodes 4 and/or 5, when they should, as well.
Well, perhaps. There's millions, if not billions, of droids in the galaxy. It's understandable if they didn't recognize a specific droid amongst many similar ones.Obi-Wan and Yoda - and even Vader during a brief glimpse on the Death Star - don't recognize them, either in Episodes 4 and/or 5, when they should, as well.
So what he said was true... from a certain point of view? And Kenobi was told the droids belonged to him so understandably he was confused since he's never "owned" a droid other than R4, ... he would have kept that information from Luke. To prevent him from trying to uncover knowledge of his father & sister.
