Are you sure that units can attack after capping ... my battleships lost BOTH their attacks (highly upgraded) when capping embarked units in my last game.
But they can still do this. The workers don't actually stop them.
Are you just saying that the workers confuse the AI by messing up its pathfinding?
Did you save the game and actually test that the AI would attack you without the workers there? I'm not sure that they'd suicide strength 6 warriors against strength 12 horsemen.
Yes you are right, against other civs, horsemen vs warrior isn't the best example. If you have a chance to war with Japan, they're deceivingly strong because of their UA. With his own GG, as long as the Jap warrior don't die after attacking horseman, it'll be hard for the horsemen to finish them off, because they fight at full strength when injured. It's likely the horsemen will die on the counterattack. Even if the horsemen can finish them off, they won't have enough to take down the city, thus taking more turns to gain city => longer war coz of AI's resistency to negotiate peace. Was just using this as one of the alternative to take on Civs with early UU or UA (Greece, Japan, China), use worker to take 1 attacking turn away from the defenders.
Does anyone know if GG retains it's bonus on the defensive?
I'll try to find another game vs Greece/China coz their early military strength is more well known.
