So I was just giving Immortal a shot, having fun being a crazy wonder obsessed warmonger as Monty when during my conquest of Boston I found the city had Floating Gardens, Philadelphia, that I took from him a dozen or so turns before did not have this very useful building that I thought only I had access to.

So, is there espionage after all, is this a feature or just a bug?
The Immortal difficulty is going extremely well by the way, kind of wondering what all the fuss is about at this point, but alas, it's not over yet, despite owning most of Africa on huge earth.

It's entirely normal for civs with unique buildings. If you capture a city with the building your UB replaces it is automatically replaced with your UB. In this case Philadelphia would have had a water mill which survived conquest and was replaced with floating gardens. Conversely if you capture a city and the civs UB survives it is switched for the building it replaces.

does this happen with Burial Tombs? i was reading another thread where a player cant get the Steam Achievement of capturing a city that had a Burial Tomb. Does it get replaced with your UB or the normal equivalent?

Yes, but you first get the additional Gold for pillaging a city with a burial tomb.

i wonder if the replacement thing is preventing him from getting the achievement. he's been loading games with Egypt as an AI over and over just to get the achievement and its not happening.

In my experience all cultural buildings gets demolished when you conquer a city.

Somehow it never occured to me that FG was a replacement for the water mill, silly me.

And I've often seen monuments and temples on conquered cities, so pretty sure that does'nt hold up.

And about the mods, I tried Nights for a bit but then I found out I did'nt feel much like having to figure out the entire game again, perhaps I can give VEM a shot, but last time I tried it crashed my Steamless version.
