Anarres versus ERIKK PBEM

A temporary peace has been agreed with the Zulu.

The second French city fell, and I found they had built a new one on the other corner of the continent :confused:

My forces approach the remanants of the Romans, but they now have 2 new cities...

That civ respawning always pisses me off. Go and crush em Anarres :)
 
After a building period of ages the Pyramids finally were completed in Washington! Because the Americans also have the Colossus within their borders, a Golden Age was triggered! Of course this was all planned step by step by the American authority! We are now facing the ending of another great poject: Zun Tsu's war acadamy in Boston. All in all the Americans once again are quite an industrious tribe! ;)

Meanwhile the Americans have build up a large army for the future campaigns! :mwaha:
 
I have been a monarchy for a couple of turns now.

There are 19 turns of non-agression left. King anarres is getting a little concerned at the Americans needless army expansion. :(

One interesting thing this turn - I found a load of barbs near the Ottomans. If they go for ERIKK, his troops are gone...:

Edit:I just ended the turn and all 6 horse units attacked ERIKKs regular warrior on the mountain, and he only lost 2 hit points as well as getting to elite :mad:

To sum up, ERIKK has a lot of Medieval Infantry that he has upgraded (or he is waiting for Leonardos Workshop), and soon Sun Tzu's Art of War. I expect a push from him in the not too distant future.

I look set to colonise the whole top half of the map, and have made a good start. I have various other things going quietly, but I'll not say as I don't want to spoil the suprise :evil:

The only question is can I get a decent enough defense going before ERIKK attacks with his upgraded Medieval Infantry? :eek:

Indeed I build up my forces and a part of them are modern. But I was thinking the same: will this end in an arms-race or will we see some action. What is wise? Shall I attack or wait to be attacked? Are the Greeks capable of attacking, if so will my units be in place by then? I have an extensive road network now. Do they have that too, their supply lines are longer...

What are those "other things" he is talking about now for some time? For now all those captured cities are not really productive because most of them are far away from the capital. Anarres needs a Forbidden Palace in the Southwestern area of former Rome I guess..., like I will need one in Southwestern India ;) I attacked India: that city went size 2. But it got destroyed anyway. :mad:

Our nation is very productive and commercial now. Defenses are up and strong. Our cities grow fast and soon every city has a free barracks and granary. :) We may look smaller but are much stronger and soon as big as our opponent.
 
For the first time ever my score is higher than ERIKKs :D

Probably the last time as well, as ERIKK has Pyramids and soon(!) Sun Tzu's art of war. :cry:

Well, I must have missed your PM by minutes. I was online myself and checking my PMs and email from 5pm until past 7:30. Please do not be angry. If I had got the game at 7:10pm I could have played it straight away.

I even saw you browsing the boards and pm'd and emailed you as well.

I never got an email after 7pm. It is still not here. I have just downloaded 118.

I am about to eat dinner, and will play after. I will not be able to post it until about 10:30pm GMT, so I suppose you will not get the game in time.

I sent it at 19:10 CET and again 20:30 CET. I guess my mails have been disappeared.... I also had MSN problems like you but when yours where solved mine were still present. :(
 
ERIKK, I got your 118 email after 2am this morning :eek:

hehe 7 hours for an email :vomit:

I am playing turn 119 now.
 
These are two of the best - in the Aeson, Cartouche Bee, Sirpleb, Moonsinger, Cracker (add your fav top player here) ..... class.

Thanx Col, but no, I do not belong in that list. I am an Emperor player who occasionally wins a Deity game but loses the most of them. I know four ultra good players with exceptional scores:

1. SirPleb
2. Aeson
3. Bamspeedy
4. Anarres
(These are all micro-manage-beasts! ;) )

From the other ones in the Deity HOF I only know Moonsinger from some of her posts. I guess she is a pro too.
 
Well I'm a monarch player who wins sometimes on Emperor and never on Deity so looking up to you guys, you're all way above me.

Still as you know winning at MP will not be the same as winning at Diety. We all get set in certain ways that we are used to and can maybe be exploited by someone creative..... I remember once using a dice for my opening moves in Diplomacy. Drove another player who loved to calculate crazy. ;)
 
ERIKK has already outplayed me in certain key aspects:

1 - Better researching (I was doing 40-turn research, and was very lucky to catch up in tech)

2 - Wonder building (I very rarely build early wonders on Deity and ERIKK beat me to colossus and pyramids and now apparently Sun Tzu! - very good long term prospects)

My response (and my one saving grace) was taking out some AI cities. I decided to expand in to as much space as possible and get a decent powerbase myself. My research is not as quick as I want it, but it will be soon.

My only hope is for a medium term attack. I am not ready for war right now, and neither is ERIKK. The medium term looks good for me because my larger empire will soon be very productive. The long term is bad as ERIKKs wonders will start to pay dividends.

The only questionable tactic on ERIKKs side was getting a Golden Age while in despotism. I changed to Monarchy as soon as I got it, and it only took 3 turns. I think ERIKK should have done this too, although he may be going for democracy straight away (as it has no WW in MP!).
 
You still havent read that PM....

- Somewhere at 2500 BC: decided to build Collosus + Pyramids for GA. I also wanted another wonder: the Great Library (that time I was ahead in tech) but you catched up in tech so Sun Tzu is a better choice now
- Wanted the Pyramids ASAP for fast land filling...
- GA now excellent for hurrying Sun Tzu, soon it will the time is now for fast build up verteran units...
- like to be Republic instead of Monarchy but researched Monarchy for backup plan if Pyramids got taken by you (Hanging Gardens = industrious Wonder). Waiting for AI to research Republic. If not It can research it in 4 turns.

The Chieftain Indians show their military might!

The Americans offensive got slowed down by fierce Indian defense! American casualties were taken. On the Ottoman front no serious resistance reported. One city captured, one razed and one to be taken soon.
