Anarres versus ERIKK PBEM

Great game, guys! :goodjob:

Very funny negotiations. ;)

(I'm negotiating myself with someone in the DDPP game, but people should read my log for that. :) (Not you, Erik! :p))
I hope to read more of these negotiations. It's what makes PBEM's most fun!!

The new form of diplomacy is what I consider MP games to be best at.

Instead of getting annoyed at the limited deals the AI lets you make, you can agree your own terms and make your own deals.

@Matrix I read the log and it's good stuff :). I look forward to trading with you.

Well, Barbs have appeared everywhere, and I have lost 17 gold in a raid, and 14 gold in a second raid :(

I read that when someone reaches the medeival age that the barbarians suddenly multiply - maybe ERIKK is there already

Nope, not yet by far.

I am milking the AI's, selling them ROP and contacts with their neighbours. The AI's are suddenly making money each turn. My investment in embassy's with Greek money :satan: is starting to pay off. Meanwhile my scouts found new lands where I did not expected it! Popped another hut that gave me Philosofy  Raided first barb camp netting me some money! I love it when a conscript warrior raids a camp and gets veteran ;)
Gonna raid some more in a while...

ERIKK: I just realised that you get to all the deals first. If a civ had gpt to spare you can do diplo first and get it off them :(

Go Erikk go! Looks good so far :)

As the Romans or Ottomans have researched writing the Americans are sure the Greeks have seen by now (or they will as we sold contact to the Spanish to the French) that all civilzations are on one big continent. The shape of the world continues surprising us! Our scouts have recently discovered new lands on two different parts of the world. But now that barbarians have appeared all over the world, one scout is in severe danger and probably soon dies as he is being boxed in...

Meanwhile in the empire one city governour got fired as he refused to let the people work on a 3 food tile. He told them to work on a one shield, 2 food tile but the shield became wasted. After waiting one turn, assuming the governour to better his judgement, emperor ERIKK got fed up with it.

next moves
In 2 turns the Americans will develop Map Making. No way we will share the world map with other civs but we will be interested in trading our territory map for hard cash + maps (we know 90% of the Greek territory and 100% of the territoy of almost all other civs).

the future: diplomacy
The last 4 turns the Americans have watched 2 Greek settlers again wander unprotected through the field. :hmm: One of those encountered barbarians and had to settle early (not be the river) and was raided twice. A third settler has settled in turn 61 and probably was unprotected too. All this wandering was highly risky because our non-agression agreement ended turn 53! American warriors were closeby but were send to kill the barbarian camp. Thus, American forces are securing Greek borders from the barbarian hordes! More warriors are sent to the Greek borders to secure those unprotected cities from the hordes as Greece doesn't do it by herself...

Emperor ERIKK wonders if the Greek authority thinks that the Americans are as dumb as the Zulu's and Romans by not having to build up any armed forces... Ranking 8th means Greece hardly got any units at all... (Just the two hoplites and one warrior our scouts reported?) Maybe Greece wants to have the Americans to secure their borders? We are allready there... :satan:

Just you try and enter my territory and we'll see what my military is like :D

Hehe Erikk is the world police :D

This gets better and better!

And I definately recognize my playing style and thinking in anarres play.....

By looking at the map, you can definately tell it's on chieftain level. I sure hope they fix that bug soon where we can play PBEM games on a level other than chieftain.

Too right...

When that gets fixed I'm gonna start a 4 players Vs 4 AI on deity...

Co-operative players, but can't give out maps until they have map-making and have met the friendly civ etc...

Oh.... On diety... ;)

It's gonna rock...

Turn 75 - 86:
It is 875 BC. We still live in a very peacefull world. Last eleven turns a couple of new cities were created all over the world. The Spanish have four cities now, while France still has one. America and Greece are still almost equal in size.

The Americans have started a great project. We are building the Pyramids to secure future growth. Loads of workers are now improving the terrain within out territory. The outskirts of our empire become more and more connected to the capital.

Meanwhile our scouts and scout warriors are reporting a growing military precense in the unclaimed territories south of Greece (between Rome and France). Numerous hoplites, some chariots and warrioirs have been spotted. For a while America was afraid these troops would be marching towards us but the troops halted. Our intelligence thinks they are there to keep the barbarians away and/or kill them first and also keep an eye on our present forces ;) America and Greece are now equal in military size. Greece and America are not communicating/trading with each other anymore and there are no active agreements between the nations.
