Ancient Age Wonders!!!

Well, I know its about time the culture department made a movement to build wonders and here it is.

Wonders we can build

The Collossus (being built by France and Babylon)
The Great Lighthouse (being built by Iroqois)
The Hanging Gardens

Other nations all ready have started The Collossus and The Great Lighthouse, and I doubt we'll be able to catch up.

The culture department strongly sugests we build the Hanging Gardens.

No Ancient Age Wonders. Our nation isn't ready nor capable of building those shield intensive Wonders. We'll be wasting too many shields on a gamble and we can not afford to take this gamble.

I agree with Rik here - we don't need this wonder that (basically) gives 1 happy citizen in each city. (The Hanging Gardens). First of all, personally, I don't like wonders that expire, they just make it "mask" the problems of your empire. Second, we have/will have a good luxury amount once the roads are done (3 luxuries, 4 happy faces with a marketplace.) I think we shouldn't spend much time wasting shields building the HG. Third, if we are going to war soon, I suggest we focus on preparation for war rather than an (insignificant) wonder that won't really impact our nation.

I support Snipelfritz, acting Culture Minister 100 %, we need hanging gardens immediately as we are about to trade away monarchy for a very good deal. Yet, please put up a 24 hour poll on it now! No time to lose. We have so many cities that making one wonder city would be worth the trouble compared to the extra swordsmen we lose.

Long term, the city with the HG will have 12 population and be able to build multiple wonders and improvements. Ginger Ale and Rik supports a more Soviet style planning where there is little room for economic diversity. Yet, HG will make Japanatica become a true powerhouse with some metropolitan areas. Cutting a couple of forests around will accelerate the process. People must understand the magnitude for this wonder, allowing us to dominate several future wonder races from this city!

Its too late to get any of these or HG. The AI civs (and prob India) are already building these wonders. Can you say Wonder Cascade? The only way I see us beating the AI to any near term wonder is by getting a great leader in a war.

Still, I say that we start a wonder/pre-build in Zojoji so that we can get the next wonder after the cascade.

I agree Moth, let us make a decent attempt, if we get it fine, otherwise we improvize and take the next in line.

I agree, we can't really build any wonders ATM because we don't have any cities capable. We really need to set aside a city that will do that for the next age though.

We can set aside Fanatikku, Immo or Zojoji, and I think we can poll that already now.
No need to take wonder races per age as they are overlapping. We can handle one wonder city right awat, I have seen enough delays.

I definately agree with starting the HG now and switching if neccesary.

Well, once the Babylonians get Monarchy and trade it around, the other civs will just cascade to The Hanging Gardens.

I believe the Capital should build the HG and once Zojoji finishes its Library, have it build the Palace pre-Build if we aren't at WAR.
