Does the Colosuss help that much? I almost never build it in SG. I am a huge fan of the Lighthouse - I love fast boats.

The advantage of Pyramids is obvious, but will that much growth make keeping the poplulation happy a burden to war/further expansion? I would like the Pyramids too, I'm just curious.

I have only built Colossus in a 20K. The commerce bonus is huge because it lasts so long and its pretty cheap.

As far as the pyramids growth is power in any game. Period. The only part of the population that needs to have more happy that not is in the productive cities (probably first two rings). The corrupt cities will have citizens converted to specialists at some point but especially if they are whining (unhappy). Taxmen or scientists will be used extensively (see Bede's war academy article) as we see fit (fishing villages etc). It is unlikely we will ever use a clown for happiness. That's what the lux slider is for ( Butterball that's the happy face guy on F1 ) . Also keep in mind we seem to have plenty of lux in the neighborhood which will make republic very powerful for us. Worst case we can change governments and the others are stuck with the government they're in. This should not be discounted.

My take on the current poll results (11 people voted): no AA wonders to be built from scratch, unless we get a SGL. Pyramids has high priority but the GA might be a problem if we're still in despotism or not well developed yet.

I'm quite sure we can time Pyramids after the Republic revolt, as we'll only have a short anarchy.

TNT and D'nuts aren't going to build them for obvious reasons. I dunno for MIA, but they can leave them to us for another favor.

Anyway, how fast can we build them?
