Craig_Sutter submitted a new resource:

Anglo-Saxon Civilization - Anglo-Saxon England with Alfred as leader... Oswald and Penda to be added later.

Anglo-Saxon England under Alfred the Great:

Agenda: The Scholar King - Friendly to those civilizations that are ahead of him in [ICON_Science] Science. Dislikes backwards civilizations that are lacking in [ICON_Science]. Always tries to keep a large standing army. Respects other civilizations with large armies.

Leader Trait: The Last King - Units beginning their movement in a City Centre or Encampment District have +2 [ICON_Movement] Movement. Builds Campus districts in half the time....

Hi, started a game and selected Alfred to play but when the game started the game was playing without me. Nothing to see as the whole mini map was covered with the FOW. Turns were going up but I could not play. I worked out to put the mod in the mods folder as you said also. Do I have to put the artdef folder in the games steam dir? Looking forward to trying it though.

It would be cool to get this to work with YNAMP with the true start locations no idea how though. I read you were thinking of adding more leaders to the Anglo-Saxons. Could I suggest 'Lady of the Mercians'
Æthelflæd . She was awesome, the Danes and Norse were that frightened of her they would lay down their arms rather than fight her. Could be her trait, lol.

Unzip it in your mods folder. Perhaps under documents/games/civ6 or somesuch.

Then start the game... go to other content in the menu and select the mod in the mod menu. Then go out to the game menu and start a game as normal. Alfred should be selectable.

Yeah got it mate thanks. Any idea how to get "GDG Builder Can Boost All Wonders In Every Era" to work with it?? I tried editing the file in the other mod but it wouldn't even start a new game. It seemed to play well with my other mods, didn't notice any problems till that.

Playing by itself! Won't be my mod as it just has xml in it... nothing to run the game by itself. I will look into AEthelfaed; however, I am trying to duplicate my leaders from my Civ 5 mod as a priority... so she'll be much later.

Got it working, it seems it didn't like the maps I had on but looking good. Any idea how long it will be before the character can be edited (Teddy)? It plays quite well. I hope you look into Æthelflæd as she really was awesome I like Queen Victoria but would rather have Æthelflæd any day, lol. Is there supposed to be an icon in the production queue for the huscarl? As I didn't see one.

It uses the berserker icon for now. I think it comes with the same tech as pikemsn. Let me know if there's a problem.

I will be adding custom unit icons and leader screens when I have the method figured out.

I also am thinking about changing the huscarl ability... The homedefense bonuses are very suitable for the Fyrdsman, but I think I want something different for huscarles.

I am not sure how to integrate with YnAMP... I will give it a try once this has more polish.

I am not certain what is needed... aren't they just maps? What is needed to set a civ up to play them?

Mostly maps, yes. So you would need a TSL starting location instead of just random starting anywhere. (Since the London spot is taken up by the regular England civ. Which, of course, you can uncheck when wanting to play Anglo-Saxons instead.) AFAIK that's all.

Is there any chance of over writing the Victoria civ? Then it should work with TSL maps no?

Could you point me to where the City/Town names are so I could change them? I was playing recently and some American Cities came up. I know you can over write them in game but I'd rather put my own Anglo-Saxon names in there so I don't have to bother. Cheers.
It played well btw. Be great when they get more specific traits, I miss the auto theme and the extra unit on a different continent, lol.

My city list must be too short... I will add to it on the next upload (maybe a week). Otherwise, the city list is in the Data/Anglo_Saxons/Anglo_Saxon_Civilizations.xml file. It is very easy to alter.

Sorry for the inconvenience... the city list was taken from a civ V scenario I had made... and was just for Wessex. I will be adding Mercian and Northumbrian cities right away (No London... you may want to add that. In the scenario, one of the "city-states owned it".
