Yeah, I recognized Anno, and I did indeed find Anno 1503 in my drawer. It was an amazinly fun game, I'll have to try this one out.

fap fap to the sea graphics

yarrrr

Anno 1602 is fiendishly addictive.
You have to colonize your own island(s) and plan their settlement. Much like in Sim City, good placement of the buildings is imperative. As your population grows, you will get access to new buildings, which allow you to produce new goods. These goods are needed to keep your people happy, as they develop from simple pioneers to aristocrats.
Aristocrats pay a lot more taxes than pioneers do, but keeping them happy requires a multitude of resources and buildings. Since you have only so much space on your island and not every island is able to produce every resource, you will want to outsource your industry to other islands.
This requires careful planned trade routes, in order to take the goods back to your main island before supplies run low there.

It is very satisfying to see a carefuly set up economy work. It becomes a nightmare, if something unexpected happens. Like a declaration of war by one of your opponents. Your people have little loyality and will leave, if their demands are not met.

I never played Anno 1501, but hear it doesn't compare to 1601. Indeed, i still have 1601 installed on my harddrive. Better not think about it; have work to finish... :mischief:

I played 1602 like nuts and if this has same quality...I'm going to get this!

I was hoping I would see them continue this series. If it adds to the game anything like 1503 did, it is sure to be good. The graphics look pretty good. I like the trees.

Same publishers as Knights Of Honor, which happens to be my favorite game.

European games are awesome for the depth. I will probably get 1701 but I reccomend Knights of Honor over it for sure.

Anno 1701 is in stores in europe since last week.

AWESOME GAME!!!!

I highly recommend this to strategy-game fans. Ones more I think civilization fans will love it. :-)
The MP-mode is also very good!!!!

I tried 1602 after playing the demo and I was disappointed - I did not find it addictive. I thougt it was a very unforgiving game, and allowed for very little straying of the beaten paths.
I might give this one a try but not until I finish the pile of jaw-droppers sitting on my desk :D
