It's all that extra work which is invisible to people that makes this job so difficult. This is why the guidelines as they stand include sections like -

It amazes me that people prefer to add minutes and hours of work to your load rather than take a few extra seconds of their own time to simplify your task. Kudos to you for dealing with it.

Blue Monkey... I agree. But the Thing to ask ourselves is have we managed to convey exactly what we need or want so people can and will provide it.

Most of the time it seems to basically be a simple matter of a lack of communication then resentments for what is expected and not done because it was not conveyed where it was really understood.

One might take the position that no one could or will understand without having the responsibility and position themselves and perhaps that is true. I believe there is a way to convey what the requirements are and explain it where people will accommodate the requirements. Then those that do read and understand will and those that do not will have to do so or not participate

You guys have and are working Too hard... Get this situation under control by Good and Explicit Communication so all can and will do as you need them to do... make it easier on yourself, I believe almost all would be willing to do that IF they understood.
