Anti-aliasing in the GIMP

I downloaded GIMP (like Photoshop for those who don't know) so that I can use Rhye's BMPtoWBS program to make my own maps. My problem is that I need to run anti-aliasing off when I'm painting on the map. Does anyone know how to turn it off so that I won't have "blurred" edges around my brushes (be it a pencil or paint-brush)? The converter program can't have any colors that aren't part of the template.

make sure your brush is set to a Circle, instead of a Circle Fuzzy -- Fuzzy anti-aliases, regular doesn't.

My brush was a circle yet when I use a maroon brush (maroon is used for peaks in the converter) it blends the colors with whatever colors were originally in the image. Of course you only see this when you are zoomed in close.

interesting... sadly I don't play with Gimp much, I have a licensed photoshop which runs filters better, imho... Gimp filters come out awkward, especially polarize!

Yes it is insteresting. I could always use MS Paint  Well once I graduate with my CS degree I'll be able to affoard photoshop and all will be well. Thanks for the input :goodjob:

The paintbrush option does the fuzzy edges.

The pencil option should do just the colour you have selected in the pixels you select.

I've decided to do select by color and choose the color I want to get rid of and then fill it with whatever color I need to use, and it worked great. Just a little more tweaking and I'll have a template to work from.
