It appears that anti-catholic attacks are on the rise in turkey. This brings into question just how open ans accepting Turkey is. If the attacks continue it could put entry into the EU on a back slide.

That won't be necessary, I think nobody can realistically believe that Turkey will enter EU.

Well that's nice...and I'm going to Turkey in September...with a Christian group...who I know will be wearing crosses around their necks...

 Wow, one attack and suddenly the whole country is a bastion of anti-christian murderers. Get a grip.

Its not just one attack but many targeting christians, increasingly targeting catholic priests. This isn't an isolated case.

I condemn this despicable attack. This is not to say no country has marginal troublemakers who try to commit foul crimes. In Europe there have been numerous attacks in the past against Muslims. By your token, these should never have taken place in the first place in the "civilised" EU that you want to compare Turkey with.

Relax :) . Around 20 million tourists visited Turkey last year, a great majority of whom where Christians. Of course a fair share of them wore crosses ;) .

I didn't mean to imply that Turkey is un-civilized. I'm sure that these are marginal trouble makers and not representative of the populous on whole. But it is high profile and in this time and place every little action has the potential to escalate deep divides. The majority christian EU already is leary of letting in Turky and I'm sure will point to every little incident to block acceptence.

Haha, wow you guys and your frothing.

Even an atheist is trying to defend christians now...because guess what? They were attacked by the eeeevil Irabians!

Get thine head out of the sand.

I suggest that you dont use that word since certan mods are against the use of it . I know because I have been slamed for the use of that word.
