multiplayer limits number of civs allowed to like.. 8? or maybe 7. really annoying. so you can't play a lot of scenarios as intended

is there any good historical or fun multiplayer scenarios to play with my brother for fun? not competetive

Are you looking to have the AI play the other slots for multiplayer, or just have you and your brother play with no other opponents? Are you playing this as Hot Seat or via a network? Are you interested strictly in the Conquest version or open to Play the World as well?

Yeah that can be tough. I assume you want to play over the Internet which is restricted to 8 total players, while Hotseat and PBEM can have 31.

I instantly thought of two older scenarios I made a few years ago https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/a-new-beginning-a-new-freedom.535223/ . I do not think these scenarios are that good, since I was rather inexperienced in the editor then. It does have a custom tech tree, units, civs, and locked alliances so it is good for teams (It actually says it was designed for both sp and mp, but not much is in the design except alliances and 8 players).

My best games were with/against my brother.

I’m working on a full history mod designed specifically for multiplayer games. You can set the number of players from 2 to 31 and it has a number of features that enable you to cooperate with other players. You can exchange all sorts of equipment, supplies and combat units with an ally and even fight secret wars on their behalf. It’s quite different to the original Civ3 in gameplay and isn’t a scenario so the map is randomly generated.

It's no use to you now but if you’re interested I’ll notify you when it’s ready.

hi guys, I was going to play on the internet lobby, because to do hotseat or email sounds like it would take a very long time

we thought to even try civ 4 hoping that it would have more ai in its multiplayer but... it seems getting multiplayer to work in CIV IV nowadays is quite confusing...

I was going to play with a bunch of computers, and my brother. we don't really play 1v1 in most games, because well... one of us is a liiittle bettter than the other lol

thanks for all the advice, and I will look out for that scenario, oni ryuu!
