After update some of my mods keep crashing my game the moment the "start game" globe at leader screen should appear. Application closes and asks if I want to send report to Firaxis.
The thing is that theese mods are not even enabled. Just their existence in ...\mods\ folder causes this behaviour. The examples are: Reformation Victories and some TCS mods.
Double check to disable them in-game but only moving them out of mods folder prevents the crashes.
I suspect it has something to do with .modinfo file formating since some of the mods are simple xml data.

Please report if found any potential causes or have similar behaviour.

I have found that the patch has caused a number of issues with my mods. Best to delete them from your mods folder for now and get them from the steam workshop once I have all the issues resolved. Hope to have them fixed over the weekend.

I'm having all sorts of trouble with the new uploader and modbuddy. Can't seem to get anything done.

I was also having issues with the uploader. Would just crash when I selected my modinfo file. In may case I had to ensure that the <Files></Files> section was before the <Components></Components> section, then it started working. I'm not currently using the modbuddy (saw no benefit to moving my mods into it) and have stuck with editing my mod files in Notepad++.

Lol, same exact story for me. Thanks Firaxis.

I have quite a lot of patience, but I'm just about done trying to mod this game. Had spent a lot of time building a big mod that worked perfectly before the patch. No errors in any logs when it crashes now. Checking out this thread's solution ^^ as a last resort.
