Anyone else "scared" by the Liberalism and Circumvate sound?

When a Civilization firsts discovers Liberalism, or a Civilization is the first to Cirvumvate the globe, there's this annoying, loud, and sudden sound effect that plays. It is unexpected and, while I'm not like "AAAAAHHH!!!" and run away from my computer screaming, I am a bit "disturbed" for about three seconds. Anyone else get like this?

Just seems so "out of place" when you hear medievel music and then...well..yeah..

I'm not startled by that sound. I suggest you turn the sound down in the game or on the speakers.

I wish it would just be a tiny, tiny bit lower though. Hearing the great music in the game, and then...well...yeh... (No, my speakers are not near max)

It's odd. I can get through the whole screaming sound when a city is taken over, but not the Liberalism/Circumnavigate sound.

I can live with how it is currently though.

You could try looking for the file with the sound and use an application like Audacity to make it quieter.

Yeah, the circumnavigation/liberalism sound threw me off aswell for a while. Sounds almost like something bad has happened. Catched me off guard.

I am used to it now, and like it.

The liberalism/circumvate sound doesn't throw me off at all. But when the war trumpets sound I jump out of my seat, especially when I have no army

Yes the liberalism/circumnavigate the globe kind of freaks me out.

The war trumpet also startles me. Especially with my comp it sounds while the little propeller is still turning. My eyes are glued to the top left corner of the screen to see who's going to throw down. It's usually some civ declaring war on me.

Simple. The guy that made the sounds for Civ4 is a conservative isolationist.

I think it sounds kindov like a mix between a bad thing and a good thing, kind of like they should use that sound when you win a micheals victory, you know, you may have won, but with all that loss......

I don't think it sounds like good/bad. Just a sound...
