anyone ever knew this torching thingy?!

I was being sarcastic, you know.
Volcanoes are one of the main features in C3C (maybe not as major as all the Conquests though).

Why in the manual it doesn't say they can TORCH cities?? it never happand to me befor... and I built a lot near volcanoes...

And this is one of the reasons why you shouldn't build near them. Eruptions can happen at any time, and when they do, you see what can happen.

Hehe, you must have had a lot of experience with volcanoes then to know the details. ;)

actually, knowing what they can do, i'd probably only build a city near them if i wanted to see it "burned to a crisp" (i did it once)

I think only cities are "torched," and only units are "burned to a crisp."

In RoR, Neapolis starts next to a volcano. Does it ever get torched? I've seen it erupt, but Neapolis was spared.

I've seen it destroyed. All of a sudden I look the next turn on the minimap and theres some of Rome missing.

Have never seen a city torched... I have lost some units to them rarely though. That's sad but oh so amusing as well, thanks for sharing!

I put a city next to one in my most recent game. I needed to though, there were two gems at the site and two other civs gunning for them. I got lucky over 200 turns and no eruptions:).

I lost the colossus to a volcano as Greece once. I remember Persia AI loosing a major city to one as well.
