Anyone familiar with windows installer problems

Download and start Windows Installer Cleanup utility from Microsoft.

Download, install and run it. See if it detects any traces of Silent Hunter III, and see if removing them helps.

I think your registry removes would have removed those traces already... but it's worth a try.

If you check one of my earlier posts, you can see I already did try the installer cleanup tool, but it did not find anything SH3 related. I also reinstalled the installer, but that did nothing. I doubt the reinstall messes with excisiting install data, even if it's damaged.

Could you write to the makers of the game? You might get some response on the game's official forums.
