Anyone for SW:TOR?

I ended up making it to 50 on my Smuggler and finishing her story. I thought the leveling experience in this game was really good, better than any MMO so far because it has good stories like WoW but with the addition of your character getting to take part in the conversations. Unfortunately once the story is done the game is just like any other MMO, it's WoW with less features. You run dailies, do level 50 dungeons, maybe battlegrounds or raids depending on what you like. Just like WoW, but with less responsive combat and less content overall. I haven't played since about a week after hitting 50 and ended up just canceling my account. Shame, if they could have come up with some new ideas for things to do at 50 this game could have been the new hotness, but as it is it isn't as good as WoW since endgame content is more crucial for MMO's than the leveling experience. An amazing leveling experience like this game has will keep people playing for a month or two, but you need great endgame content to keep people playing for years like WoW has done, and this game doesn't have it.

You could always level an alt. There are 8 different classes, which means there should be 8 different storylines. If my hand wasn't hurting, I'd like to try the Empire ones. My brother said they are pretty good. He liked the agent one a lot.

Hey I found a game manual. This would have been helpful when I was starting the game. :)

I'm trying to figure out how to cancel this game. It's a fun game, but even after a week off, my hand is hurting too much to play.

First of all let me say I've never been on this particular board before, so if someone has already made a thread about this game I apologize. And mods feel free to merge this thread with someone else's if that's the case.

The game Star Wars the Old Republic looks awesome to me, although I've never actually played it. Has anyone ever played it? Own it? I won't be able to play it until at least April, because I'm saving up for a new laptop that will be powerful enough to play it.

I guess what I'm looking for is thoughts on the game, and if it's worth buying, which edition should I get? And which in-game class is the best to play as?

I've never played an MMO other than Runescape (yes it sucks... that's why I quit).

So that being said, I'm not sure what to expect. I've never played this game before but I like what I see. I won't buy the game until at least April, because it's April when I'll have a laptop powerful enough to play it.

The class that interests me the most is the Bounty Hunter. Anyone know about it?

And can you kill other players in the game? Not permanently of course but still can you kill them at all? The fact that Bounty Hunters are "Jedi Killers" (at least according to the official game website) is awesome... I'm guessing a LOT of people choose to play as Jedi... it's everyones dream.

best class is whatever you like doing the most whether it's heavy blasters, laser rifles, laser pistols, light sabers, or force powers. There's something for everybody.

If you like Knights of the Old Republic, you'll like this game. Some of the hard core raider type (or pvp type) players may not like it, but most people should like it. I liked it, but it was too addicting for me, so I quit. Try to find a server with a good population so it's easier to find groups.

As for what version, I'm unfamiliar with the other version. I just have the standard version of the game. I think the other versions just have little goodies like pets and such. Mostly cosmetic stuff.

I wouldn't say it's the most awesome MMORPG, but like I said, if you like Knights of the old republic, you should like this one.

I like Knights of the old republic. The class I want to play as is the Bounty Hunter. I really can't imagine anything else.

Yahtzee played the Bounty Hunter in his Zero Punctuation review of the game.
