Anyone got it yet?

I've bought many PC games - and most from Frys (it's such a happy place) since I've been (back) in PHX. They've yet to fail to have any game I want on release day. They have to put a disclaimer to cover themselves but they usually deliver.

I've had good luck with Fry's as well. I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition on October 16. They had a special promotion. The price was $36.99. With 2 day shipping, I should have the game by Thursday or Friday at the latest and I'll be happy because I got the best price around

Just noticed the gamespot website has changed the status of civ IV from a pre-order available on the 25th to just "usually ships in 24 hours" like any other game that is in stock

24 hours for company sometimes means 2 days or 3. at least for me.

I haven't been this charged up about a game since I stood in line to get an Xbox w/ Halo on November 14, 2001!!! Of course I lost days of my life to that title. Oh well, good bye social life again!

I just got off the phone with Fry's outpost.com. They told me they were expecting 16 of the Collector Edition box sets and that they had 34 orders and that their ship date was now Oct. 28... perhaps you guys should shop elsewhere? I can wait a week or so to get a copy, but for those who can't... Wal-Mart

I registered just to tell you guys this. I called the EB main customer service line and was told that Civ IV did not ship to anyone. Disappointing I know, but I thought I would share the info.

Odd. When I called EBGames.com earlier tonight, they said my shipping label had printed and that it would ship out today. Guess I'll double check with them in the morning.

My EBGAMES in Vancouver Canada told me today at 5:00 that yes, the latest version of Civilization is in stock!

and then proceeded to clarify that they had Civ III in stock, not Civ IV. Yes, you read that right; the guy didn't even know that there was a new Civilization coming out. WHAT'S THIS WORLD COMING TO?


Oh, and by the way, does anyone know if Canada's EB is getting the special edition preorders or not? I did preorder but I have a feeling it's just the regular edition...pshh...first our country isn't included in the game, and now no special edition?

Now I can fly to Los Angeles in 12 hours, clear customs in 1 hour, get to a shopping mall, get the game, get back to LAX for the 23:00 over nighter back to Sydney. Hhhhmmmmm, could be worth it. I could also bring a laptop and play the game on the flight back! Now that may be the clincher!

You can get through customs in an hour?! Frankly I'd be less surprised to hear that someone had the game on the 20th. But if you did that, once I get some money I'd mail you some of the cost of the airline tickets just because doing that would be so incredibly cool.

Local Wal*Mart didn't have it today, unsurprisingly enough. Possibly tomorrow at the mall.
