...because I have. I've seen this before when I started a game with 32 players just to see what it looked like and got several copies of civs, but this game has seven, so why are there two the same?

I once played with the full 32 (or whatever) opponents. Unfortuanlty you have to configure the opponents by hand or you get loads of repeats. Three Alexis and no Flauros sort of thing. Very confusing.
Nope. Although I think I remember a discussion about colonies in FfH about how civs should probably just have themselves as their colony because it doesn't make any sense to have Balseraphs create Bannor as a colony. That would require all civs to have at least two leaders so they'd have to create new ones. Failing that I'd think they should have dwarves create dwarves elfes create elves where possible, or at least keep it to the same alignment.
Back on topic, I wouldn't think this would happen with such a small number of civs so I was thinking maybe it was just the Dovellio because they're incomplete and the game is treating them differently. Has anyone seen this happen with other civs without having more than 19 civs at start?
i might have misinterperted what you just said but i mean any civ created a colony and it just happened to be doviello, its happened to me in a few games with the lanlun, and then the colony (2nd lanlun) left the original civ
also i think the doviello are complete its the illians that arent
God I'm stupid. I get the Illians and Doviello confused so often what with them both being from Age of Ice and having javelin throwers that I confused the leaders and though they were both Illian, and then I got the wrong name when writing the title, not that it matters what with everything else being so wrong.
