APETO - [GoobNES01-Fallout]

Australia can pay South Vietnam's share of the project.

OOC - And, with that economy of your's, everyone else's, and still have enough left over.

OOC: Enough left over to buy MORE.

Welcome back, Panda! :D

Update and Reminder.

I've updated the Projects section so that you guys know how much you owe and when to pay up.
Also, the charter has been updated with the Barney obligations. Please check it out and tell me if you have any oppositions to it.

This is also a reminder to finish paying up the SEAINT costs by next turn, failure of which would mean that that member would not gain the knowledge and benefits of the project.
It is noted that Australia will pay South Vietnam's project cost. How they return payment, etc will be up to them.

I'll pay my stuff... sheeze aren't we exaggerating about these Barneys? That's a lot of economy... I'd like to start a Pacific Stock Exchange w/ ye all... now if everyone would just cut the Barney's in half (excuse the pun) everyone get +1 eco next turn to finish 'em with!! ;)

South Vietnam says no, South Vietnam needs that MPP so that South Vietnam can stay alive against the Communists to her North, who certainly have not stopped their designs to unite Vietnam for once and for all.

South Vietnam will donate an eco to the Stock Exchange next turn, this turn we really need to rebuild our nation and military.

Australia votes NAY. In these times, the nations of SEATO need all the allies they can get.

Also, Australia will invest in the Stock Exchange next turn with..hmm.. 4 eco.

Malaysia votes aye to the dissolution of the Mutual Protection Pact within SEATO nations.
The policies of certain member states are not in line with Malaysia's. Although the disparity in policy does not constitute breaking of diplomatic and trade ties, we do not wish to enter a war which we do not support.

OOC: Toteone, make a formal proposal for an APSE project, then we can vote over it. Looking at it, though, it looks like it will pass.

The CU calls upon the activation of the MPP, she realizes not all will heed the call but hopes to get whatever help there MAY be.

*CRIMES against HUMANITY ambassador?*
When did industrial espionage become a crime against humanity? A bit extreme. And the colonies have been granted independance after a little bit of rebuilding (5 eco. total).

As for the nukes... baaah, they're in Goober Blix's hands now. Once again isn't it a bit extreme to call attempted nuclear proliferation a crime against humanity? well no, that probably is, but make that "A crime against humanity."

Then again Japan is lost to the CU and probably all the other nations in here. Vote like you want.

Regarding South Vietnam, we appreciate that you'd most likely vote for a protection of the CU and sorry about pushing you for 2 eco. that we kept, the CU got a bit greedy there (ooc: even if they didn't spend the rest of their money it seems), but you can't help, not without risking yourself too much so make peace with your nothern neighbors and stick with SEATO. We have only one advice to this nation we have a certain amount of parental affection for. Try to join SADETO.

Iran asks for membership in SEATO.

South Vietnam votes NAY, as asks why the world is picking on the CU, who has done little wrong, and is giving Franco a free hand in Europe? The free world has their priorities seriously messed up, if they are going after the CU, but not Franco . . .

The CU will be sending one economic point to South Vietnam for private reasons (Goober, man you gotta start spending the NPC economy - I think you're not right?) and 1 economy to North Vietnam for a three-way peace agreement.

The USSR ambassador has also announced to the CU that he intends to apply for SEATO. The CU moves that such a vote be cast by Malaysia, the Phillipines and Australia.

Japan (when NPC), the CU and South Vietnam have already votes AYE.
I don't know if Japan can recant it's vote, but it's not legal in the IC.

So then it's
3 Aye
3 Undecided

We need another AYE vote or for the SecGenship to decide.
The CU does not believe in this organization any more btw., if it's members are not willing to defend the others against pre-emptive warfare (pending espionage) then the MPP can only be used for when someone is outright attacked for absolutely no clear reason at all.
The US was planning to attack for South Africa, whom at the time of the espionage was not allied. The CU understands SEATO's wish not to defend the CU against South Africa, but not to defend against the US is ludicrous.
