One thing that most successful guys would probably recommend is that if you are in the condition you say you are, then you should try to fill whatever 'void' there is with your own activites, rather than the company of the opposite sex. It is very rare in my experience to have an unhappy man become happy after finding a girlfriend.
I think he is on to something. I am looking to get a girlfriend, but not to make me happy or fill a void. Don't stress it so much, just be willing to put yourself out there when the opportunities do arise.

But if you do use a matchmaker site, make sure it's a classy, succsessful one, like the ones advertised on televison, not the trashy whore ones who bear the slogan: "Get laid in seven days or your money back!" It's fine to use a matchmaker site, don't be ashamed of going after what you want, just make sure you're on a good site.
Apart from some people that doesn't like to talk much at all. So I'd advice that you stretch out your feelers before shooting of a barrage of questions...
