I'm not trying to reconcile biblical creation with evolution . I'm conceding the possibility of a creator (though I personally don't believe in one) , then pointing out how any creator's true awesomeness is actually downgraded by organized religion and uplifted by science .

Religious consequences ? Such as ? I'd humbly suggest you have a lot more faith in scientific consequences , thus your unwillingness to just jump in front of the traffic .

Right. If there is a god, then I'd wager that it is a far greater being than any religion's cheap imitations.

The problem I see with combining evolution with creation:
You deny part of it, you'll come to deny all of it.
I've seen it already many times.
Also, it would have some religious consequences too, starting with Sabbath being the direct commemoration of the SIX DAYS creation.
HERE:

I happen to agree with your conclusion. But you're currently believing some dude's word (at best, a second-hand witness to the event of God talking to Moses) over all of known natural history.

The odds of one ancient preacher being wrong is vastly higher than the aggregate of our current knowledge

There's no such thing as absolute certainty in science. However, the scientific method is the best tool we have for arriving at truth. It has a far better track record than any other method.

If someone hits an old lady with his car, is his past record of being the perfect driver, a PROOF that this wasn't his birthday and he wasn't as drunk as a flask in Sahara (and thus very much guilty)???
(I liked that wordplay.)

It wasn't the main point.
The main point was - I have a vast evidence too.
Unless you dismiss it by being biased.
Which happens typically.

For anyone not in the know: adding  smilies after your post makes your argument more correct.

I don't even know what you're getting at. What I meant was that the scientific method has a proven track record of working. Every technology that you take for granted was made possible by science, including clean water and insulated housing. May as well go back to living in stone age conditions if you believe science is so unreliable.

No, but mocking others, does.

Well, then the driver is free to go - he has a clean RECORD.
Regardless of his CURRENT incident, he's as RIGHT as he could ever be, cause he has a RECORD of being RIGHT.
Exactly why I call science, an idol, - it MUST be RIGHT, cause it has a RECORD of being RIGHT.
Regardless how baseless and UN(DIS)PROVABLE is the CURRENT GUESS.

Oh irony of ironies.
