Are there any tips for hotseat?

Hi i plan to have a hot seat game with three friends andni have a few questions.

How many civs can a normal hotseat game play?

If my friend is destroyed can he respawn as another civ?

What map do you reccomend? I want one with a new world so when i discocer astronomy i can create a colony. I basicaly want a GEM style but not Earth, some random landmasses i can leave and explore a new world.

If i create a colony on another continent can i quit playing as the civ i was and continue as the colony i created?

Can i play as the english and ensure i create the American civ to play as?
If not can i change some settings and do it manually?

Has anyone completed a hot seat game to the galactic era?

I ve been loking for a space map which one do you reccomend?

I have a few more questions but i ant remember them.

You are just going to have to try it out.

Can't answer many of your questions.

Space maps are not ready for C2C yet. And No one has reported taking a Hotseat game to Galactic Era or Even Playing a Hotseat game.

You are in Virgin waters for the most part.

I have played Hotseat only since the inception of this mod. I have another account here many years old but forget the info since I was away a while. I have not played this mod hotseat for 5-6 months. But I have played it a lot in the past. One time I had an issue but I posted my problem and they patched it in the SVN pretty fast. I have taken it to the modern age a lot. However I cant say how it is now but I do plan to play another with my wife. I update via SVN on a regular basis.

If the direct connect would have less OOS errors I would prefer that. I think I ll give Direct or Lan another shot..

I modified my own earth map for a hotseat game and it was fun.
