Are you there?. A new PBEM match

It means that you can trade Tech A only if you did researched. Once you traded Tech B (from other player) you can not trade this tech (cause you obtained by trade, not by research).

In configuration of the game there are two options for tech trading. I don't know the name in English, cause i have Civ in Spanish. One of the options don't allow tech trading at all. The second option allow tech trading only if researched. I vote for this second one.

And i'm not sure we are five. Josgalo didn't appear more.

I delete this last sentence!!! Perdon Josgalo!

Ok, thats kind of what I thought.

I'm ready to play - in for the duration, however long it may be....

Sarge:gp:

All right, if we all are in agreement with these game settings, we can start to play.
Although we have to choose a civ and the kind of map.
My preferences are Hannibal - Carthage and Continents (no more than 2).

I also have 3.17.
Trade about you're talking to is Tech brokering. But, from my experience, tech trade always bring in unbalance.
We'll probably have the case with two continents- on one are two, on another three civs. This means that three civs can easily, with tech trade, make huge advantage over continent with two civs. Tech brokering emans nothing in this case.
Also, that means that we are going to play team game, because no one will want t orush other civ, because he risks alot- he must defeat all enemies, and build up his kingdom to be better that all civs from another continent together, when they arrive with galleons.

How we will choose out leaders? Someoen wrote 5 leaders, but it's not fair...
The, very imoprtant thing is your time zone!!! We must make good time schedule!

My time zone is GMT +1

You can check out your time zone THIS

Ok for me with no Tech Trade. it will be different, i guess very individualistic game.
I'd let other options ON.

I don't care the Civ.
I'm in GMT +1 (now is +2 for Summer time, but soon will be +1 again)

I'm in GMT +1 timezone.

Civ i prefer: Japan, Tokugawa

About map's question, well, i prefer random standard (small size it will be fine). Cause if we are going to play with another settings (like Burlicconi says) could be a little trend to guide our strategy. But maybe on random it will be not clear if you are winning (or maybe loosing) time going on a particular strategy.

Yeah, some kind of random map is better that the chosen one. as i said, a lot of this game wit htech trading turn into team game, but do we want to play team game?

edit: if we want total random ,we can choose unrestricted leaders and then all make random....

room for 1 more? And I would be happy with any available civ.

I'm at GMT - 5 (NY). Email is ruff_hi at yahoo dot com

So, what is our decision?
As long as I can remember, we agreed about all random, and no tech trading?
Do we use fractal map as well, or some other, tectonic, for example?

I've not played to much with the different Map stlyes - Usually I do Big and Small - but just recently started tectonics. I understand that tectonics are supposed to have more consistent features, larger forests, plains, mountain ranges, etc???

If it will get things moving, then I'm for that!

Looking forward to it.

Personally, i don't mind the map type.

It is enough for me that when we start the game, at first turn, we post the config. on this thread.

room for 1 more? And I would be happy with any available civ.
we are five, so far, with ruff 6, for me it's OK, but that should be the limit.

i wouldn't hurry up for starting... delaying it is a way of testing who keeps up the interest (not sure at all, but a little)

Do we use fractal map as well, or some other, tectonic, for example?
tectonic? what is it? i'ver never played. i don't see it in my BTS conf options:eek:

i think that our preference playing hours is more important than GMT. so we can organize turns in relation to that preference:ex.
A from 2-4 GMT
B from 7-15 GMT
C from 12 to 17 GMT, and so...

my preference is from 20 - 24 GMT

Preference in GMT -

Hmm, I'm not sure how to convert my time over from Pacific Standard time to GMT.

I would say my preferred time would be between 8:00 PM (PST) - 10:00 PM (PST).

I posted link above TIME ZONES

I also heard recently about tectonic maps, and it is very similar to earth- you have great mountains, then great flod plains, but its some kind of unbalanced map, just like planet earth is.
Big and small are also good...
Fractal is also nice map....
Unrestricted leaders- I never played this, so I hope for nice fun....

I'm GMT +1, and I'm available most of the time...

As Giraflorens my time preference is 20 - 24 GMT.
About the style map, choose yourself, you're more experienced players than me. I would happy with any decision.

Cheers.

guille GMT+1
burlicconi GMT +1
josgalo GMT
Giraflorens GMT
Ruff Hi - GMT-5
Sarge 3-6 GMT

So, best turn order maybe:

Josgalo
Giraflorens
Guille
Burlicconi
Sarge
Ruff Hi

Does anybody have another suggestion? Did I put something wrong?
